"Guys! Guys! The Grand Magic Games are coming up!" Some yelled out as they ran into the Guild Hall. Natsu was already jumping out of his seat and spitting fire with excitment.
"Grand Magic Games?" Kage questioned from his perch on Hayden's shoulder. "The Grand Magic Games are used to determine the strongest guild in Fiore." Hayden explained to the raven on his shoulder. "Sounds lame." Kage muttered. "Is being the strongest Guild really all that important?"
"Of course it is!" Esme yelled at him. "It's a matter of Pride!"
"Yes. Of course it is. Forgive me for thinking otherwise." Kage said sarcastically.
"Master said that this year's magic games are gonna be a bit different. Instead of choosing our usual people for our team, he wanted to switch some of them out for you three." Mira told them. All three of them turned to her in shock.
"US?! But we're still new to the Guild!" Esme practically shouted. Mira giggled. "Yes, and in the short time you've been here, you've proven to be exceptional wizards!"
"But all you've seen us do is tease eachother and torture Pinky over there." Kage said as he gestured to Natsu at the other side of the Guild Hall. "Then I guess we'll see how you guys fair in during the games!" Mira said with a smile.
A couple days later, Fairy Tail had traveled to Crocus to compete in the Grand Magic Game which was being held inside the Domus Flau. "I don't know about this. What if I accidentally poison someone?!" Hayden panicked. "You'll do fine." Mira told him as she put a hand on his shoulder. "The Domus Flau has an infirmary. And besides, not everyone is Natsu. No one but him is dumb enough black magic." She said sweetly. Hayden smiled at her.
Fairy Tail made their way to their spot over the field and got ready for the games to start. Other Guilds got to their spots as well. "I hate it here. It's sunny and hot." Kage complained as he sat on the ledge. "Don't worry. You won't be bored for long. You ARE competing after all." Pantherlily said as he next to him.
"Talk about an unlikely friendship." Lucy said as she saw the two from the back of the group. "Yah...friendship." Esme said with an evil smile.
The Magic Games had started and the different guilds had started the battles. Kage yawned from his spot on the ledge as he waited for his turn to fight. Hayden was sweating bullets as Mira tried to calm him down and Esme was practically jumping with excitment which made Laxus chuckle. Finally, it was their turn. A three on three battle against three of Sabertooth's wizards. "You're up next!" Lily told a half alseep Kage. "YAH!" Esme yelled out a jumped off the edge. The Guild panicked and ran up to look over the edge and saw her land perfectly and run out onto the feild. Laughing all the way there.
"I guess we're jumping." Kage muttered. He let his body fall forward off the ledge but instead of landing, he turned into a raven halfway down and glided down to where Esme stood. Hayden groaned as he watched his siblings. "You're turn!" Natsu yelled and shoved Hayden over the ledge.
Hayden face planted in a puff of dust. He could hear Esme laughing at him from a distance as he stood up. At the other end of the feild, Sting, Rogue and Rufus made their way out. "Come on, come on!" Esme said excitedly while Kage just yawned.
The battle started, and Hayden disappeared. The audience looked around for him, but he was no wear in sight.
"WHITE DRAGON ROAR!" Sting yelled out. Kage turned into a cheetah and took off to the side. Esme smiled and cartwheeled out of the way of the attack. Kage turned and ran straight at Rufus who saw the attack coming.
"Memory-Make: Karma of the Burning Land!" Rufus yelled out. The ground was set ablaze and moved straight or Kage who jumped up over it and turned into a raven to fly over it.
Rogue stood in the back of the fighting and watched the feild. We was waiting for the third Fairy Tail wizard to appear again. The ground beneath him had turned black and he quickly jumped out of the way. Black spikes pierced from the black spot where he once stood, then faded away.
When Rogue landed and quickly swung a lunch at the presence behind. Hayden dodged the attack and disappeared again. "You react fast!" He said. Rogue glance around him until something clicked in his head. "STING! WE NEED TO GET RID OF THE SHADOWS!" He yelled out.
Sting glanced back at Rogue and nodded. Sting leaped up high in the air with a smirk.
"White Dragon's Holy Breath!"
He let out a blast of light at the feild below him and created an explosion of light that filled the area.

When the dust cleared, Kage, Esme and Hayden were all laying out in the open. Kage moved to look at Hayden a crossed the feild and clenched his teeth. "Esme! Take care of the idiot in the feather hat!" He yelled out. "On it!" Esme yelled and ran after Rufus.
Kage got up and took off towards the center of the feild. Sting landed just a little bit away and looked at him in confusion. "What's he doing?" Gray questioned from his spot with Fairy Tail. Makarov watched him closley.
"SHADOW DRAGON!" Kage shouted as light started to surround his body. "What?! But Hayden didn't shout the order! What's he thinking?!" Erza yelled. Everyone in the audience watched in shock as the boy slowly grew and shifted. Then the light shattered to reveal the large black dragon underneath.
Kage let out an ear piercing roar which left the two Sabertooth dragon slayers staring in surprise and audience yelling with excitment. Kage whipped his tail and swatted Sting away before turning his head in Hayden's direction and shot a Shadow Dragon Roar at him. Rogue moved out of the way as quickly as he could as the attack the boy on the ground near him.
Esme's fist lit up with lightning as she puch Rufus in face and sent him flying and slamming him into the wall. "He was to easy." She muttered, then turned to see Kage's attack hit Hayden. The black fire grew before being sucked up to reveal Hayden standing up on his feet. "Thanks for the meal baby bro!" He yelled out. Kage nodded and held a claw out towards Esme who smiled wickedly. She leaped into his hand and he clenched her tight before turning and throwing her at Sting. Sting barely had time to react before Esme slammed into him, electricity flying everywhere.
Hayden and Rogue were in an all-out fight. Black dust and fire everywhere until Hayden turned the ground black again. Spikes shot up from the ground and hit Rogue at full force. Causing him to collapse as black mist seaped from his wounds.
"Fairy Tail WINS!" The announcer yelled out and the crowed went nutz as Kage let out a victory roar.
"THAT WAS AMAZING!" Natsu yelled out. They were back at the Guild Hall in Magnolia and currently celebrating they're victory. "YOU TURNED INTO A DRAGON!"
"Yes. I HAVE been known to do that." Kage said as he rolled his eyes. He was sat with Gajeel and Pantherlily while Hayden and Esme were with Laxus and Mirajane at the bar. "I'm very proud of you!" Mira said as she gave Hayden another kiss on the cheek. Hayden chuckle a bit as looked away embarrassed. "I'm can't believe he threw you. Have you guys done that before? You seemed ready for it." Laxus said as Esme gulped down her drink. "We've only ever done it once before. But it's totally awesome! Kage says that it's kind of like throwing a lightning bolt at your enemy!" Laxus laughed at that and Esme smiled.
"Well done my children! I knew you three would do great!" Makarov said from his spot on the bar counter. "Do you know what this means?!" Happy yelled out. Everyone looked at him. "Kage turns into a dragon WITHOUT Hayden's approval!" Everyone froze and slowly turned to the sadistic boy who was sat next to Gajeel.
Kage smiled wickedly and everyone went pale while Lily just sighed and shook his head.
