Swear

You swore you weren't cheating
But you slept with her that morning,
And met with me that evening.

You kissed me on the lips,
you thought I would've missed,
the scratch marks on your skin
I guess the other woman was a win

But of course I shrugged it off,
I thought it was the signs and symptoms of a broken heart,
So I played the part.

You begged me to stay
And swore you would change,
But after I left
You invited her over to stay the night
And fixed her a plate after feeding me lies

I gave you oceans of love
But you dried it out
So now I'm empty and tired
and I can't refill now

So I guess I have to wait it out,
And see if time heals a thousand scars
That are too deep to see
And too wide to seal.
