Kabanata 13: You have me

The ambiance of the coffee shop was calm and refreshing plus the serenity from soft music. I should be calm because everything was cool but I couldn't. These two people infront of me have been avoiding my gaze since we got in and sat down to our comfortable seats.

Tumikhim ako para basagin ang nakakabinging katahimikan namin.

"So... You really knew about this and you didn't even tell me?" I arched my eyebrows.

Rouve looked at me, feeling sorry. "We didn't want to mingle with other poeple's business?" He said, unsure.

Cielo kept her phone. Bumuntong-hininga ito bago hinawakan ang mainit na kape na sa harapan niya. She took a sip from it.

"Ibang tao na pala ako ngayon para sa inyo? I didn't know." I could not hide how disappointed I was.

They kept those things away from me because they didn't want to get involved with me. Nakaka-disappoint na parang ibang tao ang tingin nila sa akin.

"No..." Cielo pouted her red lips. "Pero siguro nga gano'n na rin. Hindi ba dapat ay si Ryde mismo ang magsasabi ng totoo? Kahit na gusto namin ay ayaw namin siyang pangunahan. He's your guy. Dapat ay sa kanya manggaling ang mga 'yon."

I nodded my head. "I get your point but you still kept it as a secret. You didn't bother to tell me."

"At least we didn't lie..." Nakita ko ang pasimpleng pagsiko ni Cielo sa kanyang kambal. "What? It's better to keep a secret than to make a lie. Come on!" He groaned.

"You are already lying when you conceal the truth," I said.

I let a heavy sigh. Kinuha ko ang kape na nasa harapan ko at dinamdam ang init no'n sa aking nanginginig na palad. Inilapit ko ito sa labi ko bago sumimsim. Tamang-tama ang timpla, hindi mapait at hindi matamis. Hindi siya nakakaumay.

"Did you already asked Ryde about this?" asked Cielo. "That you already remembered everything?"

I looked outside the trasparent glass wall beside me before I shook my head. "Hindi ko alam kung paano uumpisahan." I said, honestly.

I don't know but I am scared to tell him about the memories I just recalled. He wouldn't lie if it was just a normal accident so I believe there's more than that. I am so bothered right now.

"Ryde is being unfair to you," Rouve said. "So as you. Whoa. It's a tie!" He grinned.

Binatukan siya ni Cielo. "There is a right time for wrong things. But... I think it would be better if you and Ryde will be open to each other. You know what I mean? Secrets are not healthy in a relationship."

"Right. Kapag ako nagka-girlfriend? I will tell her every single details about me." Pagmamayabang ni Rouve.

Napailing na lang ako. I doubt it.

"Get yourself a girlfriend first, Rouve." Cielo rolled her eyes. "I bet you wouldn't tell her you have a birthmark on your butt."

"Cielo!" Namula ang mukha ni Rouve na ikinatawa ko na lang.

Matapos no'n ay bumalik na kami sa trabaho. Narito ako ngayon sa opisina namin ni Rexor. He was sitting next to my table. Masyadong malawak ang silid na ito para sa aming dalawa kaya hindi ko maiwasang magtaka kung paano siya nabuhay mag-isa sa ganito kalaking silid.

"Have you already finished the article?" I almost had a heart attack because of his sudden voice.

I looked at him. "Uh... Almost?"

"Are you okay?"

"I am."

"Good. Don't you want to join us tonight?" Naalala ko na naman ang party  mamayang gabi. Today is Lizel's birthday. "Rouve and his twin will be there."
