In the middle of the August I've got a visit from the one person I was not expecting. Stephanie showed up on my doorstep one afternoon when I had a day off. She was carrying a navy blue suitcase on wheels with her. She told me that she had broken up with Axl.

She had to get out of California and this was the first place she could think of going to when she bought her plane ticket. I was surprised initially because in her letters she never really talked about her relationship with Axl. I thought things were good between them. It turns out they were not. Axl had become very controlling. He was already controlling with the band, but he started being very controlling with Stephanie too. He started asking her where she would go when they were not together. Another factor that made Stephanie leave Axl was that he was dating another model. He thought that she would never find out. Stephanie confronted him about it and he accidentally admitted that when he met her, he was still dating Erin. So, it turns out that his dating habits had not really changed. Stephanie had enough of Axl's crap and she packed up her things and left his apartment. I guess my suspicions were right when they started dating, but I didn't want to bring up something that might have been false. Stephanie apologized that she showed up without letting me know in advance that she would be coming over. She suggested that she would look for a hotel in downtown, but I told her that she can stay with Hannah and I. She is my best friend. She won't be stuck in a hotel room by herself. Our loft had an additional bedroom. In that room there was a couch that pulls out and it can be converted into a bed. I hope Hannah will be fine with gaining a new roommate.
Hannah wasn't back from work yet, so I gave Stephanie a tour of the loft.
