Jason gripped my hand tightly and led me forward towards the aisle as the two attendants in their wolf bodies moved out of the way, their eyes on the ground. I glanced over my shoulder as Maria moved from her chair to take Vraal's arm and led him after us. The minute she passed the first row, Aunt Eris and Uncle Alphonse followed. Only Krystal and Nik were in attendance of my three cousins. Before I turned around, I saw the rest of my family follow.
He led me out of the massive throne room and into the grand foyer as we headed into the ballroom. The minute we passed through the large, floor-to-ceiling double doors, he looked at me.
I smiled at him as we headed towards our chairs at the raised platform at the back of the room. "I didn't know if I could do that," I breathed, grinning.
Jason chuckled, pausing to look at me with a warm smile. "You can. You are a Cold Waves alpha from one of the oldest bloodlines. And you just proved to that entire room of people that you are the strongest damn woman they've ever seen."
I smiled, feeling his pride swell across our shared bond.
"And," he added as his hands gripped either side of my face, "you are all mine, finally."
"And you, mine," I agreed quietly, my eyes closing when he kissed me. I inhaled sharply when he deepened it before pulling back as Maria joined us, Vraal no longer beside her. The minute she passed through the doors, two attendants closed them behind her.
"Serenity," she said, as she came forward and pulled me in for a hug. Her purple gown swished with the movement and I embraced her. "I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you," I said as I leaned back after our hug.
"It was spectacular," Maria assured me, touching my arm.
"It was," Jason agreed, smiling warmly. He glanced towards our chairs and gestured with his hand. "Shall we?"
My eyes flicked up to the displayed seats, settling on the chair at his throne's right hand.
"C'mon, it won't bite," Jason teased. "You belong there now."
I nodded and followed him to the dais before picking up the skirt of my dress. I followed him up the steps and circled behind the long banquet table. Jason gestured to my chair, and I looked at the whitewashed wood with its grey-and-white fur draped across it. I slowly lowered myself into the seat and arranged the skirt of my gown. As soon as I was settled, I breathed out.
"You look perfect," Jason said. He moved into his seat and reached over to touch my hand. "You deserve this."
"Thank you."
Maria made her way to her chair, sitting on my right hand, making me frown for a moment. I was surprised she hadn't sat at Jason's left hand.
For my father, if he decides to be polite enough to show, Jason answered my unspoken curiosity.
"And now, we get to sit through all the introductions you won't be a part of," Maria went on as she leaned back in her seat.
"Thank goodness," I giggled to her. I paused to see Thomas appear from the door off to our right.
"King Alpha, Mistress Alpha," he greeted, bowing his head respectfully. "The pack alphas are assembled and ready to be announced, as soon as we open the doors to their councils," he said. "As well as Her Majesty and the rest of Mistress Serenity's family," he added.
Jason smiled and nodded. "We might as well get the party started then."
I watched him turn to the two attendants and nodded his head with a small gesture of his right hand. He glanced at us again with another nod of submission before heading back to his door. I was willing to bet he was going to collect my family.
