Shattered (Fairy Tail)

4: Asleep

Natsu's P.O.V 

I growled as the raven haired man stepped into the cart. He glared back at me and I whined lowering my head. His glare showed me that he was not scared, and that means he won. He's higher than me in the food chain. Next into the cart was the scary redhead and a little girl with blue hair. The little girl looked to me and smiled. 

"He acts just like a puppy." she said with a little laugh. I sniffed the air seeing what her character was like. She smelled like I a nice lady. Kindness radiated from her skin but I still didn't trust her. I didn't trust anyone in here. Except for maybe Lucy. I just felt like I knew her before. 

"It's okay Natsu. She's a friend." Lucy whispered to me. I laid my head back on her lap, but I didn't drop my guard. I could spring up at anytime if needed be. After the minutes passed I didn't feel so good. The redhead shook her head playfully. 

"I guess he's still not over it." Erza spoke. Lucy didn't reply and continued to stroke my hair. Even if I didn't feel good, I felt at peace next to Lucy. It felt nice to just relax. No drafty cold concrete. No worries that a master would come down and beat me. Next thing I knew I was asleep.

When I woke up, the cart was at a stop. Everyone in the cart stood and unloaded except for the blue haired girl. She stood there at the exit as I yawn raising my head. Lucy stood and patted her leg.

"Natsu heel." she told me. I stood jumping of the seat and stretching my sore limbs before getting out of the trolley cart and looking up at a large building. It had that bird sign. The same one that was on my arm. I looked to my shoulder and then up to the building. Even though I was not keen on entering, I followed Lucy inside the building.

The first one to greet us was a tall lady with long white hair. Her bangs was pulled into a ponytail off to the side. Her gown was long and flowy, just like previous masters years before. She looked wealthy and very high in the food chain, yet she smelled kind. 

"Hello Lucy." she started. "Erza filled me in just now. Master told me that you, me, Wendy, and Erza will be in change of getting him back into shape. Oh and Happy." 

"Wait. Why Erza and Happy?" 

"Erza taught him how to talk before. Maybe she can refresh his literature skills. Happy is a big part in his memory. Since Igneel is not here, Happy is the next thing that he felt close to. If he remembers Happy then his memory can start coming back." the girl explained. She looked down to me and kneeled to my size. "You two better get going." she said before playfully ruffling my hair. 

"Yeah. Natsu heel." Lucy ordered and I followed her through the wooden guild. It was so loud. Everyone in here faught and it hurt my ears. That was all I could think of and I noticed that I stopped walking. Lucy touched my head and I looked back to her. I continued to walk into a wooden room with white beds and lots of different smells.

"Welcome Ms. Lucy." the blue haired girl from before smiled. "And you too Natsu." The women that we just met appeared behind us and gave the same kind of warm hearted smile. 

"Natsu. This is Mira and Wendy. They're going to help me make you feel better." Lucy whispered. I looked up to them and narrowed my eyes. I'm not entirely sure If I want them touching me. I feel like this is wrong somehow. Regardless I nodded and Lucy sat on one of the beds and patted the sheets. I jumped up with her sitting down on the soft mattress. 

"First things first." Lucy said. At first she just petted me. Then I heard a snap. The collar from around my neck clipped off and dropped to the floor with the chain attached. I looked down to the rusty chain and then back up to Lucy. 

"I suppose we should wash him off next." Mira smiled. I didn't get what she meant until I heard the sound of running water. Lucy stood walking into the back of the bedded room until we reached a white tub with a showerhead. I walked over sniffing the water. Lucy began taking off my vest and pants before giving me the command to get in. I shook my head and took a few steps back. 

"Don't worry Mr. Natsu. I know what to do." Wendy announced before plugging the drain. The tub filled up with warm clear water and I got closer to the rim. I stuck one hand into the water getting the feel, and I have to admit. It felt nice. I jumped into the water hearing a splash before I looked to the three girl who all laughed at each other for being soaked.

After they thought I was clean enough they threw me into some white sweatpants and a T-shirt. I shook releasing some water from my hair before Lucy started to comb through it. When she got through the matted mess I was ready to go to bed. It hurt getting a comb through my hair, and I didn't want to stay here any longer. Despite my feelings, I couldn't leave. 

"Leave now?" I asked Lucy. She shook her head and plopped down onto one of the beds. I followed her lying down next to her. Mira and Wendy walked back up to us. 

"Sorry Natsu, but I need you to stay here." Wendy said sadly. "Ms. Mira will give you something that will make you sleepy. You can sleep soundly Natsu." Wendy said with an optimistic attitude. 

"He can sleep a little bit and also give us a chance to heal him. You can stay here, but I think you should go home and get some sleep." Mira stated calmly. The white haired girl then came out with a needle hooked to a long tube. I flinched and lowered my head. 

"Don't please." I whispered.

"Natsu. I'm right here." Lucy whispered. She pointed to the bed and I laid down whining up at her. She took one of my hands and held it out to the white haired girl while she stroked my hair. Then I felt the pain of the IV being put in my vein. With a yip I looked up to Lucy. She smiled sweetly while she pet my head.

My vision started to cloud and my head began to spin. I couldn't hold on anymore. I was tired and I needed to sleep. I shook my head trying to clear away the feeling but my actions were futile. I couldn't stay awake. My eyes shut and I spoke the last word that popped into my head before I was out. 

"Luce."
