Natsu's P.O.V
I returned to Lucy's place in about a hour. I really didn't do anything except for walk around the town. I suppose I did see another cat that looked a lot like Happy, but that was about it. So after I cooled down a little bit I returned. When I climbed through the window to get into Lucy's room I had noticed Lucy pacing in the room adjacent to the bedroom. Happy seemed to be talking to her.
"What do you mean he left?!" Lucy yelled. I narrowed my eyes and snuck to the corner in order to see the both of them. Lucy was walking back and forth throwing her hands in the air. She looked really mad, but I couldn't think of a reason for her to be so upset.
"He said he was taking a walk and was going to be back by supper." Happy said looking up and trying to calm her down. She looked down to the blue cat and then picked him up by the scruff. Happy struggled against her, but she held her grip on him.
"What did you say to him?" she yelled with rage.
"Nothing!" Happy screamed and still fought against her. Even though Happy and I have a complicated relationship at this time, I felt bad for him. Because I ran off and left him here, he's getting in trouble.
"Then why didn't you go with him!" Lucy yelled. I shook my head and calmly walked into the room. Lucy hadn't noticed me, but Happy did. He screamed as Lucy still held him by the scruff. I shook my head and took in a deep breath.
"Hey. Leave my cat alone. I told him to stay behind." Lucy's head swung back to look at me. She dropped Happy and he flew over hugging me. I patted his head and returned his hug, but Lucy was not thrilled. She was still furious.
"Where have you been?" she growled with anger.
"Just because we were friends doesn't mean you can rule my life. I went out for a walk. Am I aloud to do that?" I asked. She was being such a confusing person, but I was starting to get irritated. I'm done with all of this ordering me around stuff.
"What happens if someone takes you again?!" she yelled. I narrowed my eyes at her and then looked away. Happy looked up at me from where he was hugging me, but that was about it. He didn't move from his spot, he just stared at me.
"It doesn't matter." I mumbled.
"Maybe not to you, but there are people who care for you." she was angry now, but so was I. I'm done now. I wasn't going to take any of this. I set happy on the ground and then looked Lucy in the eyes with a angry stare.
"If you guys really cared for me you wouldn't all put on fake smiles when I walk into the room. You wouldn't force me to get into scary situations. You wouldn't boss me around like I'm some kind of dog. You would actually be happy with who I am now." I yelled half of this and said the rest. I wasn't sure if I was going to cry or scream.
"I will not watch as you rot away in fear." she grumbled. My memories flashed as I saw the chain. The cage. Everything that I was so afraid of. All of the training lessons. All of the beatings. Everything that pushed me to the very edge. She would never understand me. No one understands it until they live it themselves.
"Then don't watch it. Just leave me alone." I said folding my arms and trying to not yell. I wanted to clear the images from my mind of everything that I had seen, but it was impossible. Now that I let my memories surface, they were no longer going to hide.
"Your the one in my house!" she yelled pointing at me.
"You know what Luce. Your right." Lucy eyes softened, but I looked away from her quickly. Then I walked back over to the door and opened the window. "I was never locked up here. I was never supposed to live here."
"Natsu. I -" I didn't listen to her finish before I jumped out the window once again and walked away from Lucy's apartment. It was around suppertime at this point, but it wouldn't be to long before Snake and I were supposed to meet up. He said tonight. I just need to be back on Lucy's roof before then.
Happy's P.O.V
Right after Natsu jumped out of the window Lucy slumped to the floor. She just kind of melted into this sorry looking state. It made me sad for her, even if she did just cause Natsu to run off. I shook my head and then went to the window watching as Natsu walked away from the apartment.
"I was so worried to have him back, and now he's gone again." she mumbled.
"Don't worry Lucy. I'm going to follow him. After all, he is my friend." I told her before flying out of the window. I really didn't want to leave her, but I couldn't let Natsu run off without a friend. Besides, what he said before was worrying me. He was leaving the stars? How was that possible? Or what could it mean?
Regardless I couldn't just let Natsu roam the city. He's barely left the guild or Lucy's apartment ever since he came back. I don't want people of the town being mean to him. Or the crowds scaring him at town square. I just couldn't let Natsu go through all of that by himself. I care for Natsu, but I just want him to be safe.
Lucy was doing the right thing at heart. She just needed to work on her delivery. If she would just show Natsu that he doesn't have to be scared. Show him that he doesn't have to distrust us. She doesn't need to tell him that it's safe. She needs to show him.
