Mouse's P.O.V
I knew from the start that Snake wanted to get to Dragon, but I think Dragon was to thick-headed to realize it. Snake just didn't like it, but he still acted like a friend. It was all an act though. Everything was just an act with him. He was barely beaten due to his master being poisoned to death by Snake himself. So all of the other masters are scared to death of him.
They keep Snake for only one reason. . . poison. Snake had the power to make almost any poison known to man. So, the masters would often take poisons from him to torture the other slaves, but I was the only one who knew. I was told to keep it secret. You see, Snake and I had the same master. The one who owns us now usually has me out with him, but he is out for lunch right now.
I looked over to Dragon and Kitten and how they sat as close to each other as possible. Once again, they were talking about the stars. They always talk about the stars. It's Kitten's dream. She doesn't try to hide it either.
"You know Dragon. There is one thing that I've always wanted." Kitten said looking up to the ceiling. Dragon turned and looked at his girlfriend. She met his eyes and then gave a big closed eyed smile.
"What's that Kitten?" Dragon asked.
"I want to see the stars. It's been years since I've seen them. They always seem so pretty when you hear the master's talk about them. How they use the stars to guide their way. I just wonder what they actually look like." The way she explained it really did sound like a sight to go and see. Especially as a dream.
"I don't know Kitten. You know we're not aloud outside." Dragon said breaking the mood. It was true, we weren't aloud to go outside. No one was aloud to leave. Nobody actually tried to go outside. All but Kitten. No one blamed Dragon for bringing this up either. When Kitten isn't with him then he's scared of everything. Especially the master's. They beat him more than any other slave here. Kitten didn't look down on him for fearing them.
"Yeah. I know. That's why some day when I get out of here, I'll see the stars. I'll be as free as the stars." I'm not sure if a star is actually free, but it sounded like something that makes everyone smile. Which it did. After all, Kitten is a little bit of a social butterfly.
"Your going to leave me alone to follow the stars?" Dragon said now sad. He looked down and then eyed Kitten as she started to laugh. All of us looked at her. She was the only one that could still laugh when we were here. Even after a beating, she would always find something to laugh at.
"Silly. I'm taking you with me." Dragon smiled and then nodded.
"Yeah. I think that would be great. We'll both get out of here. Together." I looked down in sadness. I wonder if they would take me too. Or will I just be left alone like I always am. Will I be left with my master? Will they leave me with Snake? Or will they actually take me with them. I doubt Kitten would leave me here.
"Mouse. Master's here." Snake told me. I looked over to the hallway to see my master. He was walking down the hall towards both of our cages. I shook my head. I know what he's doing to me. He was going to make me get Snake out. I'm the only one that can get him to go upstairs without dying, but I've come close before.
"Come on Darling. Time to get going." My master said as he unlocked our cell. I walked out without any chains or any hold on me. I know that it is pointless to run away from him. I don't need to run away from him. He will always put me back here eventually. Then, eventually, I'll die and nothing will be worth fighting for. We all have the same end.
"Y-Yes Master." I mumbled before walking out of the cage. He locked the door behind us and I went up to him bowing my head. "What is the plan for today?" I asked him. He smiled and ruffled my hair before answering my question.
"We're getting Snake and talking something over upstairs." he told me. I nodded and walked over to Snake's cage. He watched me walk into the cell and unlock Snake's cage. He narrowed his eyes at em. I mumbled sorry into his ear as he stood up. I reluctantly held his hand and walked him out of the cage. His hands were still handcuffed, but he was basically free.
Once we got out of the basement we went up to the Grand Master's room. It was the most private place in the whole guild. I held his hand and kept Snake as calm as possible. If he gets crazy then I would be beaten. It's been a while, but I'm still scared that it might happen any time.
"Snake. I need a new kind of poison." Master said. I looked from him to Snake. Snake seemed to think over what to say for a moment, but eventually he did answer master.
"Oh." he said simply. He wasn't very interested at this point. I squeezed his hand trying to keep him from saying something wrong and to try and make myself feel better. I'm a little interested but I don't want anyone to get hurt.
"And in return, you get your revenge." the master added in. My eyes widened. Revenge? Why would Snake want revenge? And on who? He barely talks to anyone in this guild. He has no friends except for Birdie. Everyone else hates him. Including Kitten.
"Revenge? On what?" Snake asked getting more interested. This couldn't be good. I've seen what revenge does to people. It's not good. No matter what, I can't let Snake do this. I know that master would make him give them the poison, but I won't let people get hurt.
"On Natsu. For stealing your girl." the master said.
"Kitten." I mumbled.
