Natsu's P.O.V
When I awoke Lucy was standing next to the bed. She wasn't facing me, she wasn't even paying any attention to me. Her back was turned to me and I lifted my head slightly wondering what she was doing. I heard her speaking.
"If he gets scared then that will be the end of it. Try to stay calm no matter what you see. He doesn't remember much either so please be considerate." Lucy told someone, but I couldn't see the person from the other side of her.
"Lucy?" I questioned blinking my eyes sleepily getting rid of the after effect of the stuff they gave me. It was just then I noticed all of the white straps wrapped around my limbs covering many parts of my skin, I wasn't sure what they were, but they didn't hurt so I left it be. The collar was off too. No collar. No chain. My head felt 10 times lighter.
"Morning Natsu." She said with a bright smile, but I could smell her sadness. "I have someone that wants to see you. I promise, he's a friend. He won't try to hurt you. Is that okay Natsu?" I nodded not knowing what else to do. She moved out of the way revealing to the person she was speaking to. He was a short guy with a partly bald head and a white mustache. He was way shorter than Lucy, and he looked more serious then her. I sat up slowly getting weight put on my sore arms.
"Natsu. Do you know who I am?" I studied the man. His face was serious, yet his smell seemed familiar. Like I've known him before. I just can't connect to what was happening. I couldn't figure out what to do. I shook my head giving him my answer.
"Smell familiar, but no." I stated. The man let out a heavy sigh and put on a half hearted smile. What is up with everyone putting on these smiles. I can't tell why, but all of them seem sad when I am around. I might bring it up later, but I also might not.
"What do you remember?" I shook my head not wanting to answer. Everything that I could remember took place in the cage. At the demon hawk guild. At the living hell. I couldn't tell him all that I remembered. It would be like reliving the pain. I couldn't do that.
"Pain." I said sadly.
"Natsu. My name Master Makarov. I'm the leader of the Fairy Tail guild." I jumped back. He's the master of the guild. He's the one that abuses his subjects. He's come to harm me. He's come to hurt me. He's come to torture me. I winced as pain shot through my body.
"Natsu!" Lucy gasped and placed her hand on my shoulder. I looked up to her and she moved her hand to my head. "He's not going to hurt you. I told you before." I took in a long breath and then let it back out. I nodded slowly and then scooched up back to where I was.
"Yes. I'm the master, but I won't hurt you like the Demon Hawk guild master. I promise." I closed my eyes for a few seconds and then opened them again. It was like I was getting myself to believe what he said. "You are part of this guild Natsu. You were before you left, you still are. No one leaves Fairy Tail." I shook my head.
"Demon Hawk -" he cut me off.
"Was people who took you away. They hurt you and kept you hidden. They messed with your mind so you couldn't remember anything. You said I smelled familiar. That's because your a member of Fairy Tail." This was a lot to take in at once.
"You don't have a Demon hawk guild mark right?" My eyes widened and I looked down. I pulled up the hem on the ankle of my sweat pants and revealed a black Demon Hawk guild mark in a cage. It was how they branded us in the guild that was the slaves, and this isn't a true guild tattoo that could come off. It was a brand. They gave it to me when I passed my first obedience call. Makarov's eyes widened.
"Natsu. That came later. That came after they took you." Lucy said. I put my pants leg back down and then looked back to the small man. He nodded and then opened his furry jacket showing me the mark on his chest. It was a match to the one on my shoulder. Lucy held up her hand showing hers. It was pink, but still had the same shape.
"This is the guild mark of Fairy Tail. You got this when you joined." I put my hand on my arm touching where the mark is. I pulled of the bandages to reveal the red mark and then compared it to Lucy's. Her didn't have the scars over it, but it still looked the same. "Since you still have it, it means that you are a part of Fairy Tail."
"I." I couldn't find any words to say. I couldn't come up with any.
"Your memory is the hardest part of all of this. Physically healing you is easy, but the rest of it is a task. . . . You're scared. Aren't you Natsu?" I looked down avoiding his gaze. I was scared, but I'm not sure of what. Who should I be scared of?
"Natsu. Please, you need to work with us or we can't make you better. Please answer the questions." Lucy said looking to me. I nodded looking back to the short man. He gave me a sad smile and nodded back.
"Look Natsu. I know your scared, I don't blame you. Pain changes people, but I also know that you are strong. I know you can pass this. I know everything can go back to the way it was before. Your not broken beyond repair. We can help fix you." Makarov told me. "Do you want us to fix you Natsu?"
"I not know. Everything confuseded me." I said holding my hands to my head. It's true. Everything confuses me. I can't think straight. Lucy put her hand around me and I looked up to her. The light from the lamps reflected off her skin giving it a beautiful glow.
"Maybe Wendy can help set your mind straight a little." Makarov said with hope in his voice. After all, that is all we can have now. Hope.
