28: Captured

Lucy's P.O.V

After Mouse told us about what happened to Natsu we all stayed silent. Just thinking about everything actually happened just made my heart dropped. I suppose after that Natsu just doesn't really trust anyone. I feel so bad for trying to force him so much.

"Later D-Dragon told me what he was seeing. It t-took quite a while, but I finally got him to talk about i-it. He was telling me that he saw the o-opposite that was happening. He s-said that we were still in the b-basement but the roles were reversed. He thought he s-saw Kitten on top of Snake instead of the t-true thing. Which for a while made him f-feel even worse, but he's a lot b-b-better now." Mouse explained. 

"So where were all of you guys when we went down to the basement. Natsu was the only one down there." Gray asked trying to change the subject. Mouse looked up trying to think back to when Natsu was taken away from Demon Hawk. 

"I-I think we were a-at a s-slave trade. They l-leave the boys here c-cause Demon Hawk is s-short on males. S-So they trade off the g-girls." Mouse explained. I suppose that it makes sense, especially since the council said that Demon Hawk had a slave service all the way around the country. Dark guilds often like to have someone to do the chores. 

"It's been a while since he left. There might be something wrong." Mira said. I looked over to Wendy who was still staring at the direction of the basement. She stood and walked a little closer. We watched as she smelled the air. 

"What's wrong Wendy?" I asked her. She looked to me and then looked back down the hall sniffing the air. 

"Something smells off. I can't tell what it is." Wendy said. 

"Dragon s-said the same t-thing." Mouse stated. I looked over to her and gave her a questioning glance. It can't be a coincidence that both Natsu and Wendy are smelling the same thing. Maybe it's something that only people with a strong sense of smell and find it. 

"I think it's time we go check up on them." Erza said standing. It must have been this new information that convinced her to go check up on Dragon and Snake. They haven't been back in a while so something must be happening. 

"I-I can't. I was told t-to stay up here." Mouse butted in. We all looked at her with a questioning glance. I thought back to where Snake told her to stay up here. I suppose that Snake has been taking charge since Demon Hawk was uprooted. 

"Why? He's not your master." Gray said. I looked over to him as he walked up to Mouse. She met his gaze before letting out a quick gasp and looking back down. Her hands clenched into fists and then relaxed as she thought it over. 

"T-True. I g-guess. . . ." she mumbled. 

"Come on. We're here. Nothing's going to happen." Mira said in her kind childish voice. Mouse looked down thinking over what we were saying. I knew that it would be hard for her to make a decision, but I don't want her getting in trouble. 

"O-Okay." she finally answered. After that, we all stood up and made our way down to the basement. Wendy was leading the way. I suppose she was following whatever smell was down here. She looked around to the walls. She stopped in front of Natsu's cage. We all gasped. Natsu was on the floor in chains. 

"Natsu!" I yelled. He was looking out with vacant eyes like he was a corpse of some kind. Out of the cages came many people. They were all dressed in black and starring at us. Wendy growled at them, which was a first for me to see. 

"She is a Dragon Slayer." Snake said walking to the front of the crowd. He gave out a small chuckle and shook his head. "And here we have Mouse. Who just can't stay upstairs and take orders. Dragon and you have the same problem." 

"What's going on here?!" Gray yelled. Snake shrugged. 

"Just some training. . . . which reminds me. I think it's time to get some new pets." At that time, all of the people attacked. I called upon Loke. He fought bravely until I felt something prick my wrist. I lifted it seeing a Snake bite that was pulsing. I flexed my hand trying to feel it, but it was useless. I couldn't move it. Loke looked back to me before he disappeared. I tried to summon him again, but I couldn't do it. I couldn't use any magic. 

I looked over to Mira, who was in Satan soul mode. A lot of the people who was fighting us stood no chance against her, but that was only true until she was bitten. A snake bite was present on her ankle and it made her lose power. With each pulse she fell to the ground no longer able to keep her satan soul form. 

Next to fall was Gray. He had been shooting ice crystals at him enemies until something also bit him. His hands dropped, but he tried to continue to fight. He couldn't create any ice. Not even enough to stop the flow of poison through the bite. 

After that it was only a matter of time before the rest of them fell. Happy, Carla, Wendy, Erza, and even Mouse fell victim. Once all of us had been bitten, the men receded leaving the basement. The only one left was Snake. He stood there staring at us as we all tried to stand once again. He gave out a chuckle before picking me up from under the arms. 

"Maybe now you all will learn how to behave." he said to me before putting me in the cage with Natsu. I looked down to Natsu seeing that he had a collar on once again hooked to a new, even heavier chain. Snake put me on the opposite side locking my wrists in shackles to the adjacent wall.

 He followed the same process with each and every one of my friends. All of us chained up, some more then others, in magic cancelling handcuffs. On the left side first cage next to Natsu was Happy and Carla. Next cage down held Gray. On the right hand side next to Natsu's cage was Mouse and Wendy. The cage next to that held Erza, and the next one was Mira. Then I saw Snake leave us down in the basement. I looked over to Natsu hoping that he would be up soon.
