18: Happy Finds Out

Happy's P.O.V

I watched Natsu and the three people stand from there spots. As I stood behind a tree watching them as they started to walk away. A single tear fell from my eyes before Natsu turned his head to look at me. I slunk further out of sight so Natsu wouldn't see me. 

"What is it Dragon?" Birdie asked. Natsu narrowed his eyes but then shook his head and turned around to continue walking. Even as Natsu was walking behind them I could see his eyes glance back over to my direction before he looked down. 

I couldn't believe it. Natsu was going to go back to Demon Hawk. How does that make sense? Why would Natsu go back to the place that beat him? What in his mind is making him think that this is a good thing to do?  Doesn't he know that everyone going to want to come after him? I suppose that at this point the most I can do is follow him. Or should I go tell the guild? They would want to know right? 

"What are you doing here?" Someone asked. I let out a small gasp as Birdie picked me up by my scruff and stared into my eyes. I struggled against her but her grip remained strong. She carried me out of the trees and showed me to Snake. 

"Happy. What are you doing here?" Natsu asked me. Tears came to my eyes and I sniffed. Natsu shook his head. 

"You can let him go Birdie." he told the girl who was holding me. She shrugged and dropped me. The moment she let me go I had my wings out and I was flying right to Natsu. I hugged Natsu rubbing my tears into his chest. Natsu stiffly returned my hug. 

"Your leaving Natsu. You're going back to Demon Hawk!" 

"Shut up cat, or I will skin you." Snake growled. Natsu gave him a quick glare before looking down to me. I was staring at Snake while trying to catch my breath. Natsu let out a sigh that surprised me. 

"I'm going away from the stars Happy. Remember." he told me. I remembered that statement of his that made no sense. "Look. I can't take you with me."

"But -" I began to argue but Natsu quickly stopped me with a simple look. His look was sad yet he still smiled. It was a soft smile that told me something like "I'm sorry but you can't stop me." I wasn't even sure if I read it right, but after that I sniffed and then flew off. I took one look down on Natsu from the sky. This time he smiled a real smile. It was small but I could see it. Then I flew off back to Lucy's apartment with tears still in my eyes. 

Natsu's P.O.V

"Who was that?" Birdie asked watching as Happy faded away in the disatance. I waited to answer until I was for sure that he was gone. I don't want Birdie to turn around and think it's a danger for him to be running around. 

"His name is Happy. He's my flying cat apparently." I told them. Snake grunted, Birdie let out a big breath, Mouse smiled a little. Birdie scratched her head and then spoke. 

"You have so many friends it's head spinning." she said. 

"I doubt that's all of them." I replied. 

"What do you mean?" Mouse asked. 

"Just a feeling." I told them. That wasn't a lie. I have a feeling that there is a lot of people that I don't remember. Not only is the guild so closely bonded that everyone is friends in there, but I just think that whoever I was it is a certainty that I am a people person. At least I used to be a people person. 

"I think we should go after him. After all, he knows where we are going now." Snake said. I whipped my head around in shock. Slight anger built up in me from what he said. What were we going to do about him when we caught him? 

"And what do you think your going to do to him?" I asked clarifying my thoughts. Snake shrugged then looked back to where Happy ran off too. I was sure that he was going to either the guild or Lucy's so it wasn't that hard to know where he was. 

"He's a danger to us. If people find out where we are going." Snake said emotionlessly. I narrowed my eyes at him. He didn't even look at me until I said something that he didn't like. I gave him an order. 

"You are not touching Happy. Are we clear?" I growled. Snakes eyes widened and his stare shot to me. He watched my expression with anger. You could see it in his eyes. He was getting agitated with me but guess what. The feeling is mutual. 

"What are you talking about Dragon?" he asked. 

"Happy is off limits to all of you." I told them. 

"Look at it logically Dragon." Snake stated. This statement only angered me. I know that Snake and I are friends, but this was something I didn't like about him. He never thinks things through. ALl the time he just thinks about how logical things are instead of thinking of the lives it might take. He was about to say something else, but I beat him to it. 

"Screw logic. You are not going to go after Happy. End of discussion." I growled. He stared at me. You can tell that he was thinking something over, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Instead I just held my stare and made myself look taller. I held myself high to show that I wasn't backing down. 

"Fine. The cat will remain flying." he said giving into my statement. I let out a breath and thought over what I had just done. I had yelled at Snake. He's proven to be stronger than I am several times, so why would I actually go up against him. It just seemed very . . . . Strange. 

"Let's just get going Snake." I told him. He nodded and turned. We all started heading back to the Demon Hawk Guild. The place that broke us, will be our new salvation home. If only Kitten could come along, but she probably would say no anyway. Even if she was alive.
