23: Fairy Tail Comes

Lucy's P.O.V

I had my doubts about this guy. He just didn't seem like a friend that we should trust. Natsu keeps looking around and locking eyes with Snake. Happy did too. Through most of the conversation, Happy was focused on Natsu. By the end, he finally stood up to Snake.

"Your the one that tried to kill me!" Happy yelled. 

"I didn't try to kill you. I wanted to stop you from telling anyone where we were going. For obvious reason." Snake motioned to all of us and then stopped on. Me he narrowed his eyes and then looked over to Natsu. "Your that Lucy that Dragon cares about. That makes more sense now. I was wondering why all of these people would show up to save one member of the guild." 

"We would save any member of our guild. Whether or not someone loves them or not." Happy stated. I stared at him and then looked back to Snake. Who chuckled at the thought. I suppose he really doesn't care about his comrades like we do, but he also said he was a slave. Slaves kind of think that everything is all about surviving than anything else. 

"That's quite nobel of you guys, but as you can see." Snake motioned to Natsu and Mouse. "All of us left of our own free will. It's not like I forced them to leave the guilds. So if you don't mind I would like to return inside with my fellow members. If you want, you can come in too. I won't do anything to harm any of you. Even the cat." 

"Fine. We will talk inside." Erza said eyeing Snake. Snake looked like he returned his glare and then turned around. Gray and I pushed the ice cage through the large doors, but Natsu seemed more scared then I have in a long time. I thought he was getting better too. 

"Natsu? Are you okay?" Natsu looked back to me when I said this and then looked down to the girl in his arms. She was shaking in fear, but she didn't looked harmed other then the bite. I thoughts we were lucky for that. Natsu looked back to me and just held a stare. Like he wanted to talk but he couldn't. 

"Maybe it's the poison." Wendy told me. 

"He's fine. I only gave him and Mouse a mild dose for now. No scary images or anything, just some illusions that puts them in a little distress. In a few minutes it will were off." Snake said looking back before coming into the main hall. He pulled up a chair around a table and took a seat. He looked at Natsu and Mouse and mumbled something. Natsu's eyes widened, but he slowly nodded. "You can let them out now."

The ice cage melted leaving Mouse and Natsu on the ground. They looked up to me and then stood holding hands. For a minute they just stood there. Motionless. Like they were waiting for something to happen. 

"Dragon. How about you go back to your room. Wait there for a bit and get some rest. Being bitten twice in one day is bad for you." Snake said. Natsu nodded and looked to Mouse giving her a quick hug and whispering something into her ears. Then he turned to where the trap door was at before climbing down to where we found him. 

"He could have stayed up here." Erza stated. 

"Like I said. Being bitten twice in one day can take a toll on his system. Trust me, your going to want him to sleep before his body decided to fight against it." Snake shrugged and then looked towards Wendy who was looked at the trapdoor. She looked to have something on her mind.

"So. Let's get started. Like I said before, my name is Snake. I'm the only other boy that this Demon Hawk facility decided to keep. The other one is Dragon, which is who you call Natsu. I'm just a slave of Demon Hawk that took the lead of the situation." Snake introduced. "You're all from Fairy Tail. Correct?" 

"Yes." Erza said simply. 

"Well. As a former slave of Demon Hawk, I would like to thank your guild for stopping the training and holding of human beings. It really did make a difference that you took that job." Snake said trying to be friendly, but once in a while he would look over at Wendy. She wasn't even paying attention to the conversation. 

"I have a question." I said. I wanted to know what was up with Natsu. Why he was acting so strange lately. Or if they know about his obsession with the stars. "Do you know about the stars. How Natsu aways . . . you know." Mouse breath hitched and then looked up to us. Snake gave her a warning look and then looked back up to us. 

"I suppose you could say that he has a friend who is no longer with us. Her death has taken quite a toll on Dragon and his mental state." Snake said like he was a little bored with it. Then he looked to Mouse who was holding her hands in fists. 

She didn't look very happy, but she kept quiet. I was wondering who this friend is, but I don't think I would be able to ask that question. Crashes was heard from underneath our feet. Snake stood shaking his head. 

"I'm going to go check on Dragon. I suppose the poison has gotten to him. Mouse, you stay here. The rest of you, I'll be right back. I don't think I would be that long." Snake said as he went to the trapdoor before climbing down the ladder. He left us alone, with only Mouse. I could see her trying to fight back tears. 

"Hey. Are you okay?" Mira asked. Mouse looked up and then gave a small fake smile.

"J-Just thinking about s-someone." 

"Who?" I asked. She looked down and thought there for a minute. This really didn't do much for me. I wanted to know who this person is and why Natsu was so obsessed with her. I get that he must have met people while being a slave, but I doubt he would become this hung up on someone. 

"K-Kitten." she finally said. I tilted my head and tried to figure out who that was. I really have never heard this name before. Natsu must have kept it a secret from us, but why? Just because a friend of his died. 

"Who's that?" Happy asked. Mouse looked back to the trapdoor to make sure that someone wasn't listening in. I suppose that she wasn't supposed to be telling us this, but I don't get all of the secrecy. Can't I just know who it is? 

"One of my b-best friends, and D-Dragon's." she paused thinking over how to put this second part. Once she finished her statement, I was in shock. To Natsu, this girl was more than just a friend. "S-She was Dragon's old g-girlfriend, but she died a few m-months ago." 

"How?" Wendy asked. 

"D-Dragon. . . he k-killed her."
