Natsu's P.O.V

When I woke up, I was in a cell. My eyes widened as I heaved in a heavy breath looking around me. It was my cell. The one that I was in when I was beaten. No chain, no nothing. Just the cell. I looked around and saw that the cage door was open. Wide open.

I let out a shaky breath as I calmed myself. Nothing happened. I'm not locked in. I'm not a slave anymore. For a moment, I actually believed that I was safe. I knew it was a lie. The strange smell is still here. It's strange, but I know that it's still here. I could smell that it was close. I stood up on my feet and walked through the door. I could still feel the pulse of the poison, but it was calmer now. It's bearable at least.

I made my way through the halls past all of the cages. All of them were open. All of them empty. Where was everyone. Where was Mouse? Where was Birdie? Where was Snake? I know that I wasn't alone. We were at Demon Hawk so Snake would be here. Right?

As I walked down the hall I kept my eyes on my soroundings. I wanted to make sure that no one was going to come after me. Just being here freaks me out. I guess I thought it would be different, but it's not. I'm still terrified to leave the basement. I was trained to never leave. I was trained to never leave. No matter what happens.

When I reached the latter I stared at the steps. I could see that it wasn't locked, but I was debating whether or not to actually go up. If someone from Demon Hawk was up there then I would be beaten. If it was Snake then I would probably lose my temper. I shook my head and grabbed the first ladder step. My hands were shaky but slowly I climbed up.

The moment that I opened the trap door I could see out. Snake was sitting in front of the entrance with his arms crossed. His eyes were locked on me. I let out a little sigh and then clambered out of the trapdoor reaching the surface.

"I was hoping I would see Mouse first, but I guess your good too." I said slightly. Snake shrugged. He didn't seem like he cared that I just insulted him in front of him. He just seemed to have something on his mind. Like he wanted to say something, but I started. "Hey. I'm sorry for what I did to you. You just made me kind of mad."

"Regardless of what I did, you shouldn't have attacked. I would think you of all people would understand that." I thought back to what happened last time I attacked. It was a guard that I knocked down the moment the unchained my hands. After that, I was burned over and over again for the next four days.

"I do understand that. I don't know what came over me. I wasn't thinking." He didn't seem like he was buying it. He shook his head and then stood up. He then turned around and walked off. He left me in the hall. I shrugged and then smelled the air. The scent was still there, but I couldn't tell what it was.

Mouse's P.O.V

Snake walked back into the Master's hall where Birdie and I waited for Dragon to wake up. Birdie and Snake has been talking about Dragon and what's he's been acting like. They think I'm just going to go along with them. In my head, I think I'm more on Dragon's side.

"So?" Birdie asked as Snake came in and took a seat in one of the chairs.

"He's up. Not only did he awaken, but he also left the cage. Left the basement. The old Dragon would have never done that. He would have stayed down there." Snake said. He sighed and clasped his hands together. "I think something is happening to him to make him fight against the Demon Hawk guild."

"What are we supposed to do with him though."

"We don't have time to figure out everything about Dragon specifically. For now we need to set up the plan for Fairy Tail. If we don't do something about them, not only will Dragon be taken back, but all of us too. We all have the guilds that are looking for us." Snake said.

"Wait, how does Fairy Tail know where we are?" Birdie asked.

"Don't forget that little blue cat that Dragon let fly off. He probably told the whole Fairy Tail guild where we were going." Birdie let out a groan and Snake nodded. "That's why I wanted to stop him when we found him."

"W-What would you d-do when you got h-him?" I asked. Snake looked to me and then narrowed his eyes before letting out a sigh.

"It doesn't matter. It didn't happen." At this point I was getting angry. I agreed with Dragon when he let that cat go, but I was to scared to speak up for myself. Dragon was the one that fought for what he believed. I just sat in the back and thought about what I should have done.

"It d-does matter!" I screamed slamming my hands on the table. Snake and Birdie looked at me in shock. Even if my stutter was still there, they could tell that I was serious. I never raise my voice. I never speak my mind, but that's changing now.

"Mouse!" Birdie yelled.

"It is true that you can't help what happened in the past, but how you thought you would handle the situation shows just what you might do in the future. If you thought of taking that cat's life then you might have taken someone else's life in the future. Are you so cold hearted that you don't care whether or not someone dies by your hands!?" I screamed at Snake.

"Are you going to rebel as well. Are you going against the obvious Demon Hawk lessons and rules?" Snake said resting his chin on his hands. I stared at him. I was going to say no and slink back into my quiet self, but I didn't. I just decided to do the one thing that i've wanted to do since I was little. I wanted to be a sassy brat.

"So what if I am?"
