Stay Away From Him

The next morning I got up and took a quick shower to get the sweat off of me from my 2 runs. I proceeded to change into clothes for school a shirt from my old school in England and jeans. I was brushing through my hair when my mum called up.

"Ava, Breakfast is ready."

"Okay mum I will be down in a minute." The smell of freshly cooked bacon floated into my room and hit my nose I jerked my head to the door. I threw my brush down onto my bed and rushed down the stairs. As I entered the dining room I saw a plate of pancakes and bacon waiting for me. I hustled to the table and scarfed down the food on the plate so not a crumb was left. I put my dishes in the sink and went upstairs to finish getting ready.

Mum started to work full-time today so she would be able to drop me off but I would either have to wait till she got done with work or find my own way home, which I already had a plan. Today mum didn't grill me when I got out of the car. I went to English and took my seat from yesterday when Lexi walked in she glared at me and went to another seat in the classroom.

A few minutes into class the door opened and someone walked in. It was the boy from the woods, James, his bright blue eyes scanned the room before walking to the teacher. He handed a paper to Mr.Bullock the teacher, he looked at it then spoke.

"Well Mr. Wood, welcome to first hour English, please take a seat." There were 2 empty seats in the room the one next to me and one next to Lexi. I could see her straighten up and smile which quickly faltered as he took the seat next to me. The scent of her anger overpowered most every other smell. And yes I can smell emotions, chemosignals. The next two classes were similar to that one as I had both Lexi and now James in both of them. If he would sit near where I sat and not her she would be glaring at me all class like it was my fault. When lunch came I was relieved I went and sat with Bella we ate our lunches and talked. After a while, Lexi came over.

"Stay away from James," she stated bluntly.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, stay away from James he is mine."

"First off I don't really know him, we just met when I was on a run and two from what he said when we met he doesn't feel the same way about you."

"You're just saying that because you want him for yourself, well guess what you're not going to get him."

"Whatever think what you want, now could you leave, me and my friend were having a conversation." She stormed off back to her friends and I turned back to Bella who looked shocked.

"What?"

"2 things first you stood up to Lexi nobody does that and second you met James as in one of the Wood twins. One of the hottest guys in school?"

"I guess, wait he has a twin?"

"Yeah Cody Wood, they are not identical twins but they are both good looking." After a while, the bell rang telling us we had to get to class. Me and Bella took our seats and James walked in a minute later and took the empty seat next to me. Bella looked at me a look on her face that said OMG he is sitting next to you. I just rolled my eyes at her. This hour was study hall and our teacher Mrs. Proter didn't care what we did just as long as we weren't too loud since it was only the second day of school we just sat and talked. After a few minutes of talking to Bella James tapped me on the shoulder I turned to him.

"Hey what's up."

"Just wanted to make sure you're not going to tell anyone about what you saw in the woods yesterday because only my twin brother knows about it and I can't risk my parents finding out."

"Don't worry your secret is safe with me, I know how to keep a secret."

"Good because my parent would probably kill me if they found out, so thank you for not telling."

"Of course, are you going to be there every day practicing."

"Not necessarily every day, but most days when I don't have much homework and on weekends until I complete that part of the training. Why do you ask?"

"I usually run through there almost every day after school and around that time on the weekends and don't want to disturb you."

"Oh it is fine if you come by when you were running just as long as you don't come to close." We were both quiet for a moment before he spoke again. "One more thing. How did you disappear so quickly yesterday?"

"I'm a fast runner," I state bluntly.

"Yeah, but you didn't make a sound it was almost as if you just vanished into thin air." I stayed quiet contemplating what to say when my wolf side spoke up. "Tell him the truth." "what." "jokingly tell him the truth." I smiled inwardly at the idea when James' voice broke me out of my thoughts.

"Earth to Ava, come in Ava," He said as he waved a hand in front of my face.

"Sorry that happens sometimes I just completely zone out."

"It's okay, so you going to tell me how you disappeared like that?"

"Like I said I'm a fast runner." He gave me a look. What do you want me to say that I am a werewolf with super speed." I said sarcastically adding a small laugh at the end. He laughed to.

"Ok I guess you don't have to tell me." We sat and talked Bella joined in and we all just talked the rest of the hour. We all had the same after lunch schedule so together we walked to class. On the way to our last class, a hand grabbed my wrist and pulled me back.

"I thought I told you to stay away from him."
