The Blood of a Wolf

Secret Between Friends

*Up top is who I see as Bella. and stuff is about to go down.

As lunch began I got my food and took a seat at a table a minute later Bella joined me sitting across the table from where I sat. And we talked, mainly about what happened this morning.

"So what do you think Alec's game is," Bella asked.

"I don't know but whatever it is I have a feeling that it has something to do with Lexi."

"What would make you think that?"

"Well from what you told me about how close Alec and Lexi are and that Alec typically doesn't talk to students in grades below him other than Lexi."

"That is a valid point, so you think that Lexi is setting you up by having Alec Flirt with you or something?"

"Yeah maybe--" is all I can say before I get a rushing feeling of a migraine coming on which usually means one thing, a full moon is coming. once the feeling passes I look back to Bella.

"Are you okay Ava?"

"Yeah just feeling a headache coming, is there a full moon coming within the next few days?"

"That is a weird question but yeah Actually it is tonight why do you ask?" shoot, I wasn't prepared to answer that question but luckily a lie came to mind.

"Since we moved here me and my mum have always had a movie night on the full moon, and it seems like it has been a while since the last so I thought it might be in the next couple of days."

"Oh well, that sounds like fun." she pauses for a second and lowers her voice before speaking again."Here comes trouble." I turn to see Alec approaching he takes a seat next to me and speaks.

"So Ava hows your day been?" He says with a smirk.

"It's been just fine. So Alecwhy are you talking to me I've heard rumors that you don't talk to students in the grades below you other than your sister of course."

"Well that is true but I can make an exception for you because if you haven't heard we usually don't get new students especially ones from out of the country. I just want to get to know you."

"Oh really," I say trying to sound like I was falling for his game. Which I wasn't.

"Yeah, totally." He puts his hand on my upper arm which my wolf didn't like very much she wanted to come out but I wouldn't let her. That is when things took a turn for the worst.

James' POV  

I was sitting with Cody at our usual table with our friends who were in a conversation when I spoke to Cody.

"So what do you think of Ava?"

"She's cool, different but a good different I like that."

"Not exactly what I meant, I was talking about the thing in the woods yesterday," I said slightly lowering my voice.

"Oh that, honestly I have no clue, but I want to and am going to find out." he looked towards the table she sat at with Bella as he talked. I followed his lead and saw Alec Hunt walk up and sit next to her.

"Uh-oh."

"What is it, James." 

"Alec is talking to Ava."

"So."

"So I don't trust him He's a player."

"You say that about me." Cody retorts

"No Cody, I say you are a flirt, not a player."

"Whatever." the next thing I notice is Alec putting his hand on Ava's arm. Cody Stiffens and looks away and begins to talk to the others. I continue to watch to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. After a minute Ava gets up and hurries out of the cafeteria leaving all her stuff but Bella picks it up and follows her out.

Ava's POV 

After a few seconds of Alec's hand on my arm, I start to smell a bunch of emotions. Anger,  joy, hatred, pride, jealousy it being the strongest. The sent became ten times stronger than usual it was then that my wolf said: "Alright I'm coming out whether you like it or not." So I quickly got up leaving all my stuff and hurried out the door, little did I know that Bella followed me out.

 I stumbled into the nearest empty classroom and closed the door just as my Nails grew into claws and my teeth became fangs and my eyes went red. I was unsuccessfully trying to calm myself down when I hear Bella open the door.

"Get back, go leave," I say my fangs making it hard to talk normally.

"What's wrong, are you okay?" she asked sounding worried

"I'm fine." is all I could manage.

"You don't sound fine," she says that is when my wolf takes full control and turns to face Bella and growls at her. As a result, she drops the bags she was holding. I took deep breaths and regained control and spoke.

"I'm so sorry Bella you were never meant to see me like that to see that side of me."

"What are you a werewolf or something?"

"Yeah pretty much." I say defeated " Please I beg of you don't tell anyone I don't  want to move again, I was just starting to like it here." I was close to tears, then Bella ran up to me and hugged me.

"Of course I won't tell anyone you are the only real friend I have had since like the beginning of middle school when Lexi started deciding who could hang out with who. I wouldn't want to lose you even if we did just meet."

"Thank you." I hugged her back.

"Plus they might turn you into a science experiment."

"Well, technically I was a science experiment."

"What do you mean?" she asked letting me go.

"How I became a werewolf, my dad was a scientist, my mum tells me that he went crazy trying to prove you could make human-animal hybrids. so when my mum was pregnant with me he injected her with the blood od a recently deceased wolf. once mum found out she had him committed to a mental institution."

"That is so not cool. So why did you move here just recently?"

"Because my wolf started to get stronger and harder to control so I lost it in front of the whole school kind of like what happened now. so it forced me and my mum to leave."

"So the question about the full moon earlier--"

"Was because my wolf is more, how do I put it, easily triggered and harder to control around the full moon."

"So what is it like being a werewolf?"

"Well I have a better sense of smell than humans and better hearing, faster reflexes and I can run really fast. My wolf has a totally different personality but we are both stubborn. she can sense whether or not I should trust a person. I can smell emotions. Each person has a different scent. and my wolf can get agitated when I don't go for runs often."

"Is that it," she says sarcastically.

"For the most part yeah." We both laugh for a minute before the bell rings for the next hour.

"So this is just between us?" she asks.

"Yeah, it will be a secret between friends."

*Yes I have been updating a lot lately because it's break and I have time to write and type it out I don't know how often I will post once I'm back at school as I have exams before Christmas break here shortly. Thanks for reading:)
