The Flirting Game

*This part will start off with a different character's point of view just so you are aware. the pic up top is who I picture as Lexi and her brother who you will meet (Emeraude Toubia and Matthew Daddario) yes I do know they play siblings on Shadowhunters that is a reason I chose them as the Hunt Siblings.

 Lexi's POV

"Ugh, that new girl is so annoying, I try to be friends with her but then she turns out to be a total goody two shoes and befriends the outcast, she stands up to me, nobody does that and the worst part she is trying to steal James from me."

"Well to be honest James isn't really your's, to begin with." I turn to my brother who is lying down on the couch in our living room and give him an icy glare.

"You're supposed to be on my side, Alec!" I practically yell at him

"I am Lex but what do you want me to do about it."

"I need your help," I say a devilish smirk on my face.

"Okay what do you want me to do," he says standing from his spot on the couch.

"I want you to flirt with her."

"What, why?"

"Don't you get it?"

"Get what?" he asks with a confused look on his face.

"You're one of the hottest guys in school and a senior so--" he cut me off.

"So you want me to flirt with her and stuff in hopes she will back off of James."

"Obviously." Finally, he gets it.

"Okay, so what is she like." I went on to explain what I knew about this Ava Reid to my brother. After I finished speaking he had an unreadable look on his face which quickly disappeared as he spoke.

"Okay I'll do it but you are going to owe me big time." 

"OKay whatever all I ask is you do as I say."

"Great now that we got that settled when do I start?" he asks with a smirk

" I was thinking tomorrow before first hour if not, then during lunchtime the sooner the better."

"One question though."

"What Alec!"

"Why do you want James so bad, he does have a twin brother and there are other guys in school?"

"You don't get it James was the first freshmen captain of our basketball team and the popular girl is always with the team captain. And his brother isn't even on a team."

"Technically he is just not a school team."

"What are you talking about."

"Cody is like co-captain or something of the lacrosse club team."

"Well, lacrosse isn't a very popular sport around here so."

"Well if you must have James to be happy."

"Thank you so much, big bro I love you." I gave him a hug which he returned.

"I love you too sis." He said before turning and heading to his room for the night.

Ava's POV

I had to get up early today because mum was wanted to work earlier for some reason. I reluctantly got out of bed when my Alarm sounded and threw on some clothes. I quickly ran a brush through my hair before heading downstairs to get some breakfast. I grabbed some food from the cupboard and quickly ate it before going to the car mum following close behind. 

The drive there was silent which was nice until memories of yesterday in thein the clearing in the woods came back to me. What if they ask questions, what would I tell them? There is no logical reason that would explain how I was able to do that.

It was then I noticed we weren't moving anymore. I climbed out of the car saying bye to my mum and walked into school. Classes wouldn't start for another half an hour so I went and found somewhere quiet to sit and wait. After a while, I hear footsteps approach and then stop in front of me, I look up expecting it to be Bella or one of the twins but I was wrong.

When I looked up I saw a guy with short wavy jet black hair and Forrest green eyes. He had a smirk plastered on his face. I didn't want to but I took my earbuds out to hear what he had to say.

"So you are Crossroad HIgh's new student from England, Ava Reid."

"Yeah, and you are." 

"Alec, senior, hottest guy in this school."

"Is that a fact or just your personal opinion?"

"It's definitely a fact there are some other hot guys here but I am by far the hottest." I had to admit he was good looking, but my wolf instincts told me to be careful and not to trust him.

"So Alce what do you want?" I ask emphasizing his name.

"I just wanted to meet the new student I've heard so much about."

"Well, now you have meant me and can leave so I can get back to my music."

"Well, well, well, someone has some sass, but you did stand up to Lexi the most popular girl in school when nobody does that. so I guess I should have seen that coming. Well, I will see you around Reid."  He winked at me before turning to go. as he walked away Bella walked up.

"Why was Alec hunt Over here Talking to you?"

"Apparently he just wanted to meet me the new girl and did you say Hunt as in Lexi Hunt our enemy and the most popular girl in school." 

"Yeah, Alec he is her older brother, and did I see correctly he winked at you as he left and I walked up."

"Yeah."

"He was probably trying to flirt with you which probably means he is up to something and that something is no good he wouldn't just flirt with a junior without good reason."

  "Well, I want to know what he is up to so I guess for now I will play along ."

"I will I just want to know what kind of game he is playing." Bella and I sat and talked until it was time for our first hour. We went our separate ways and I spent the first three hours thinking about what kind of Flirting game Alec Hunt was playing and why. 

It was then time for lunch and that is when things got a little bit more interesting for me and also confusing. What have I gotten myself into? And why does life have to be so complicated, why can't it just be simple?

*As Ava says things are going to get interesting in the next part so stay tuned. thanks for those who are reading it hope you are enjoying. And some of the description of the characters doesn't match perfectly to who I think they portray but you get the picture. and some may not get a single person because they are more of a mix of people.

*also the Naming was somewhat coincidental as I chose the Name Alec for Lexi's brother before having him be portrayed by Matthew Daddario and I didn't feel like changing the name.
