At school, I went to the same spot as yesterday and took a dosage of the pills when no one was around so they didn't ask questions. After a minute I smelled a familiar scent, I looked up to see Cody walking towards me.

"Hey."

"Hey, make it home okay last night."

"Yeah I did but the medicine hasn't completely worn off yet."

"Well it's Friday, you have almost survived your first week at Crossroads."

"And it's almost the weekend," I added.

"I like the way you think." we laughed for a minute before I stopped when I noticed trouble watching us.

"looks like we have an audience." I look over Cody's shoulder at Alec who was now walking this way.

"I don't want to deal with this right now." Cody looks back to see Alec then whispers to me

"Follow my lead and just go with it."

"What are you going to do?"

"Just go with it." he quickly whispered as Alec reached us.

"Hey guys what's up," he said looking at me.

"Nothing much really,"Cody spoke.

"I heard you had your first lacrosse practice yesterday, how'd that go?"

"It was good great actually."

"You still a co-captain?"

"Yeah, and I was just telling Princess here--" he put his hand on the small of my back urging me to step closer to them. "About our first game coming up here soon isn't that right?"

"Yeah."

"You should totally come to the game and watch me play." He says turning to me and looking me in the eyes.

"I would love to sounds like fun," I say with a bright smile on my face and he smiles in return. Just then the bell for class rings.

"Well it was nice talking to you Alec but I've got to get Ava to class, see you later."  He picks up my bag from its spot on the floor and throws it over his shoulder and uses his other hand that was still on my back to guide me past Alec to my class. when we get there he hands me my bag but before he walks  away I stop him/

"Hey, Cody."

"Yeah."

"thanks for that, I really didn't want to deal with him flirting with me right now."

"No problem if you ever need me to rescue again just let me know."

"Yeah definitely." He smiled at me before walking to his class. I went and took my seat and soon class began. when lunch came Bella had to leave for a doctor's appointment so I was all alone for a few minutes until Alec sat down.

"Hey."

"What's up Alec."

"You look like you could use some company you're all alone over here."

"Well, I'm just waiting for someone." I lie. I look around for Cody, maybe he could come and save me but  I didn't see him. I was tired from the dosage I took this morning and wanted Alec to leave but I couldn't really tell him that.

"So who you waiting for?"Alec asks curiously. that is when I feel a hand on my shoulder, I look up to See Cody and I smile.

"There you are." I raise an eyebrow at him and he understands.

"Sorry I'm late, had an issue to deal with but I'm here now." He smiles down at me, Alec watches the exchange carefully.

"So Alec what do you need?" Cody asks as he sits down next to me.
