CHAPTER FIVE

Nang dumating ako sa La Piazza andun na si Aries.

It was awkward at first. I mean, papano ko ba kakausapin yung ex ko diba?

Nag-order na siya and I have to face the fact that we have to talk.

“Aries”

“Yes Andy?”

“Why did you leave me?” matapang kong tanong.

Ewan ko pero yun yung unang bagay na gusto kong sabihin. Maybe because hina-haunt pa rin ako nung past na baka may mali akong nagawa sa relationship namin.

“Andy” malungkot nyang sabi.

“Bakit ka biglang umalis?? Bakit mo ko hiniwalayan?? May nagawa ba kong mali??” tuloy tuloy kong tanong sa kanya.

“Andy”

“Stop calling my name and start answering me damn it!!!” napasigaw ako sa inis.

Tiningnan kami ng mga tao but I don’t give a fuck at them. I want answers and I’ll have them.

He sighed then looked at me. I see loneliness in his eyes. Nakita ko na yung ganyang mga tingin before. Kay Xander.

“Look, alam mo naman na I’ve always been the responsible kid right? Perfect grades, perfect life, perfect everything. Pero isa sa ayaw ko is yung patakbuhin yung company namin” pag-amin nya sakin.

I just nodded as a sign for him to continue.

“Si Alex naman talaga dapat ang magha-handle nung company. Ayaw sana ni Dad but no choice siya dahil umayaw na talaga ko. But then Dad had a heart attack”

“What?? Bakit di mo sinabi sakin toh??” sabi ko sa kanya.

“You were stressed enough with your graduation already. I just don’t want to stress you any longer” sagot nya sakin.

“Bullshit Aries!” sabi ko sa kanya.

“I know. Pero yun talaga yung rason ko. So, Dad had a heart attack and he asked me to take over the company. How could I say no?”

Tears started to form in my eyes when I’ve realized something sa sagot nya.

He picked his career over me.

It’s just as plain as that. He’s just making it sound better. Pero yun ang bitter truth. Na mas pinili nyang patakbuhin ang kompanya nila nang wala ako sa tabi nya.

“Was I a distraction Aries?” tanong ko bigla sabay patak ng mga luha ko.

Nagulat siya sa tinanong ko.
