CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
Two weeks since yun Kabe-Louise incident. Hindi namin alam kung anong pinagusapan nila but since that day, civil na sila sa isa’t isa. It was awkward but necessary I think.
I was at the office, doing my work nang may tumawag sa office phone ko.
“Andrea Roxas” sagot ko dito.
Out of all the days naaman na may tatawag ngayon pang tambalk ang trabaho ko.
“Andrea, this is your father are you free for lunch?”
I wish he could see the scowl on my face. Ayoko nga makipag-usap sa kanila.
“No” I bluntly answered.
I heard him sigh, pero di ko na lang pinansin.
“Regardless, sasama ka samin mag-lunch. We’ll meet you at Hartel’s Restaurant at 11:30”
“Then bakit nyo pa ko tinanong?” I mumbled.
But he already shut down his phone. Nice.
Tinawagan ko si Xander gamit yung cellphone ko.
“Yes Andy?”
“Tumawag si Dad. Apparently, he wants me to go on a lunch date with them at Hartel’s”
“Oh, di ka pupunta?” he curiously asked.
“He sort of implied na pumunta ko” I bit my lip while saying it.
“Then what seems to be the problem?”
“Pwede mo ba ko samahan?” medyo nahihiya kong tanong sa kanya.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I mean, I really want you to be there with me. After what happened parang ayoko harapin sila ng ako lang. But if you can’t then it’s okay” paliwanag ko.
I heard him chuckle on his end.
“Andy I always have time for you. Meet you at the car at 11?”
Tiningnan ko yung orasan ko, it says 10:45.
“Okay” tas binaba ko na yung phone ko.
By 11 am, nasa tapat na ko ng kotse ni Xander.
Nakita ko siya all dapper and handsome in his suit.
“Hi” he smiled at me.
Uggghh... Ang gwapo!!!! Nakakainis!! Lalo tuloy ako naiinlove!!
“Hey” I greeted back.
He hugged me by the waist and placed a small kiss on my lips.
“You ready?”
“Yes well, bilisan lang natin sa kanila ah” wrapping my arms on his neck.
“Yes boss” sabi nya sakin.
Nagkwentuhan lang kami habang papunta kaming Hartel’s. I was so excited na ibalita sa kanyang malapit ko na matapos yung design sa Palawan. Natutuwa din siya dahil makakapag-bakasyon daw kami. Loko.
Pagdating namin dun medyo kinabahan ako. This is the first time na makikilala nya yung pamilya ko. Hinawakan ko yung kamay nya for strength and he kissed it. It made me feel braver.
