CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO

ANDREA

Three days. I’ve been hiding at Celine’s pad for three days.

I haven't communicated with anyone at all. Didn’t even dare open my phone.

Feeling ko mababaliw na ko sa kalungkutang nararamdaman ko.

I miss Xander pero bakit di nya pa ko nakikita? Bakit wala pa din siya?

Is he f*cking Victoria already?

No don’t think about him like that Andrea! Don’t!

Gano ba katagal bago bumalik sina Celine?

Gabi nanaman, matutulog nanaman ako mag-isa. Oh my god, my life’s so depressing!!

May kumatok sa pintuan. Who in the world could it be?

Kumatok ulit. Must be important.

Pagbukas ko ng pintuan, someone immediately pulled me for a hug. Amoy pa lang kilala ko na kung sino toh.

He found me. I can’t believe he’s here.

Xander’s really here.

He buried his face on my shoulder.

“God I missed you babe” he whispered.

Automatic yung katawan ko. God I missed this mamaw! Niyakap ko din siya, tears stinging on my eyes again.

“I missed you too Tiger” sabi ko.

Napasinghap siya sa narinig nya.

He looked at me as I looked at him.

He has dark circles under his eyes. Parang di siya natulog ng ilang araw. There are stubbles on his chin and jaw already. Overall, he looks miserable. Just like me.

I want to kiss him so bad, pero bumalik nanaman sa alaala ko yung nakita ko sa opisina nya.

I moved away from him, na kinakunot ng noo nya.

“What are you doing here?” tanong ko, placing a distance between us.

He ran his hands over his hair, sign na frustrated siya.

He closed the door and locked it. Tapos lumapit siya sakin, or rather, attempted to.

“Umalis ka na Xander. Don’t talk to me just yet” sabay talikod ko.

“Andrea will you quit moving away from me! God! Tatlong araw kitang tiniis tapos lalayo ka lang?!”

“Well don’t expect me to come at you after what I’ve witnessed! God Xander! Gustong gusto mo yung ginagawa nya sa opisina mo!!” I screamed at him.

“Gusto?! F*ck that! I didn’t know Victoria would do that! Hell hindi ko na nga siya pinapansin eh!” he shouted back.

Anger bubbled immediately inside me.

“Oh I’m sorry hindi kasi yun yung nakita ko eh! I saw your ex butt-naked infront of you and you looking at her!” I shouted back at him.

“I just threatened her when you arrive that’s why I was looking!”

“Pathetic excuse Xander! Kung mahal mo pa siya sabihin mo lang! Madali lang naman magpa-divorce!” sigaw ko.

His mood changed. If he was angry before, he’s even angrier now.

“Don’t you even think of doing that Andrea Claire Lopez!”

Nagulat ako ng binanggit nya yung buong pangalan ko.

I’m so mad and hurt na ginawa ko ang tanging paraang alam ko to escape.

I ran to Celine’s bedroom.

“Dammit Andrea! Tatakasan mo nanaman ako?! Magwo-walkout ka nanaman?!” habol nya sakin.

I immediately locked the door. Kinalampag naman nya toh.

I was crying, again. I hate this.

“Andrea buksan mo toh at maguusap pa tayo!”

“I don’t want to talk to you!”

“Will you just f*cking let me explain already!!” he shouted back

“I don’t want your explanations Xander! For all I care excuses mo lang yan!”

I heard him sigh.

“Andrea please just talk to me. I don’t want to explain behind close doors. Akala ko ba we’re making our marriage work” he sounded defeated.

“Just stop Xander! Making this marriage work was wrong! Maling mali na inayos pa natin toh dahil ang naging resulta minahal lang kita at nasaktan lang ako! Dammit Xander!”

“Don’t you dare say na mali toh! I need you Andy!” sigaw nya.

“Need isn’t exactly the words I want to hear from you! Why do you have to screw up when I was sure that I already love you?!” bulalas ko.

I can’t believe I just admitted that. Pero nasabi ko na, better that he knows already.

“There I said it, I love you, okay?! Pero putang ina Xander alam ko namang di mo ko mahal eh! Ano nga bang laban ko sa first love mo?! So please! Just please leave already!!!” frustrated kong sigaw.

Natahimik bigla lahat.

Nakaupo na ko sa sahig at iyak ko na lang ang maririnig.

Akala ko umalis na siya, pero nagsalita siya bigla.

“Alright Andrea, I’m giving you the space you crave so much. Pero hanggang space lang ang mabibigay ko. Hindi ko kaya na makipaghiwalay sayo. Aayusin natin toh. Let’s talk when you’re calm” sabi nya.

Then silence ulit. This time I think umalis na talaga siya.

Iniwan nya ko. I poured my heart out to him and that’s what all he said to me. This time, I really feel alone.
