CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Xander got better eventually. Masyado lang siguro nastress yung taong yun. Pumasok siya after two days of being absent. Nagulat nga lahat at nag-absent siya eh.

Syempre, absent din ako nung mga panahon na absent siya. Sino na lang magaalaga sa kanya?

We didn’t fight for two days after he got sick, then nag-roadtrip kami nung weekend. And of course the sex was amazing.

Dapat pala hindi pinapangakuan toh si Xander ng kahit anong sex-related because he takes it seriously. Scratch that, he takes it REALLY seriously.

Okay na sana lahat samin, but I knew it was too good to be true.

It was Tuesday when he told me something that irritated me to hell.

“I saw Victoria outside the office tonight” sabi nya after eating.

Napatingin ako sa kanya.

“What? What the hell is she doing there?” tanong ko, annoyed.

“As usual gusto nya makipag-usap but I ignored her. She even tried to kiss me pero lumayo ako agad” he reached for my hand to apologize.

Hindi na nagtanda yung babaeng yun. Akala nya hah! Humanda siya sakin!

“I’m sorry” he apologized.

“You don’t have anything to be sorry about. Hindi mo kasalanan. Bakit ba ang kulit kulit ng babaeng yan? Nakakairita na hah!” inis kong sabi.

I stood up para magpahangin. Naiirita talaga ko.

“Where are you going?” tanong nya.

“I need fresh air” sabi ko na lang.

But he held on my hand and didn’t let me go.

“Come here” tapos he nudged me to come closer.

I did. I sat on his lap facing him.

“Wag ka na mairita okay? She’ll stop sooner or later. Wala naman na siyang magagawa eh” sabi nya sakin.

“It’s just that I don’t want her back in your life, especially now na sinusubukan natin tong marriage natin ayusin” I admitted.

He caressed my face.

“She won’t be, okay?”

I sighed. He placed his lips on mine.

“Okay” I smiled at him and he smiled back.

Niyakap ko na lang siya. I need his comfort and warmth to sooth my irritation.

“Kumusta naman yung meeting mo?” tanong ko sa kanya.

“It went well. Pero dapat di naman talaga ko yung kameeting eh si Kuya talaga”

Napahiwalay ako ng yakap sa kanya. Nakita kong kumunot yung noo nya.

“Well, hayaan mo na. At least maayos yung naging takbo diba. Shows that you’re pretty capable of running the company without him” I proudly said.

“Thank you. Nakakatuwa na masabihan nyan”

“Well it’s true. I do believe that you are more than just capable, you are fit to be pero syempre I don’t want you to be the big boss pero hindi ka masaya. You should always do what makes you happy” advice ko sa kanya.

“I’ll keep that in mind” then he kissed my nose.

“May dumating pala na invitation. Yung wedding anniversary nina Mom at Dad. It’ll happen next month”

“Are you going?” he worriedly asked.

“I don’t want to go. Pero I think I have to. Although, I’m not going kung hindi ka kasama”

“I don’t think your Dad would be pleased to see me” he smirked.

Yeah, after that punch I didn’t think he would pero may dumating din para sa kanya.

“On contrare, may invitation para sayo noh”

“Weird. Ikaw ang magdesisyon, pupunta ba tayo?” tanong nya.

“Yes. But tayo hah, tayong dalawa dapat” panigurado ko.

“Yep!” he agreed.

I kissed him in the lips, which in turn became a making out session.

“Andy, can I do you?” he smiled my favorite smile.

Natawa ko sa sinabi nya.

“Must you really ask?”

“You did say I should do what makes me happy and I would be really happy if I do you” he wittily said.

Tumawa lang ulit ako and kissed him.

He stood up at hiniga ako sa dining table namin.

We replaced each other’s worries with the sound of our moans and screams as we climaxed all night long.

Pagpasok ko sa opisina kinabukasan, may tumambad na newspaper sa table ko.

Nakabukas siya sa Entertainment Section, the headline was ‘Lopez and Prinsloo: Second Chance for Romance?’

Damn it! Ang gandang bungad nito ah!

Bakit hindi nabanggit sakin ni Xander na may pictures pala?!

Biglang may nagtext sakin.

‘In my office. Now’ galing kay Xander.

Ooooh.. I’ll give that man a piece of my mind.

 

“Alexander Joaquin Lopez walang hiya ka talaga kahit kelan!” bulalas ko sa kanya.

Naabutan ko siyang naga-iPad sa opisina nya.

Nakakainis tong nilalang na toh sa harapan ko, akala mo nakakatuwa siya eh.

“I know you’ve read it. Sinabi ko naman sayo kagabi, hindi ko naman alam” he apologized for the nth time.

“Yes you did say that, but you kind of failed to mention that you’ll be on the front page of every freaking newspaper!” sabay bato ko sa table nya nung dyaryo.

It was a picture of him and Victoria, outside the office. It looked like they’re cuddling pag tiningnan mo yung litrato. There was even a picture of them almost kissing.

I don’t want to be jealous but I am.

“You do know na kahit sabihin kong okay lang, it’ll never be okay right?” I hurtfully said then walked out.

Nakakairita talaga yung babaeng yun.

I stayed at the copy room for a while dahil may kailangan akong iprint at ixerox and to destress na rin.

Nang makarating ako sa table ko, may mga white roses nanaman.

My heart leaped at the words sa card.

‘I’m sorry and I look forward to seeing your smile Mrs. Lopez –X’

That made me smile a bit.

Bumalik na ko sa trabaho ko, desididong matapos agad para may excuse akong makita siya.
