Supergirl crashed through the roof of the warehouse and wood planks with some dust and rubble showered down with her. Kara landed on her feet and started her way a couple of steps with the crumples of pavement crackling under foot. She started glancing around at the room that was the size of a stadium. Her careful footsteps echoed against the walls and bounced back.
Kara then closed her eyes and crooked her head while stopping in her steps trying to hear something. Anything.
"Come on, Lena." Supergirl whispered, but there was nothing. No footsteps. No voices. No heartbeat. No proof of Lena even being alive. What if she wasn't?
It felt like her stomach turned inside out as the thought popped into her head. Would Lillian be so evil that she would kill her own daughter? She let her shoulders relax and eyes open to only narrow them to see if she could see her somewhere, anywhere, underground or through the wall. Maybe it was some sort of device to block her super hearing out.
She slowly started to turn her head and her body scanning that ground. An illuminated square stuck out. Lead. That is where Lena was, it's where she had to be. Kara shook herself out of x-ray vision and super speeded over with a swoosh of wind following.
She bent down and with bearing fists bent the metal under her bear hands and stretched it opened with loud creaks. It wasn't just any room. It was one of Lex Luthor's vaults. The bedroom-sized room was already lit up as if it was in use. The walls were mainly bars looking making it look like a prison that held a monster.
There were about two led suitcases and even more led laced containers. Supergirl narrowed her eyes a little confused. Yeah it was good that they found another one of manic Lex's vaults, but where was Cadmus? They did get a pin on them after all.
"Supergirl!" Came a sudden voice. Kara quickly turned around from the vault in the ground to face the one and only, Lillian Luthor.
"Where's Lena?" She asked suddenly balling up her fists.
A smirk came upon her face as she straightened her back and motioned her hand commanding her little body guard, Hank Henshaw.
The cyborg grabbed a sudden startled and somnolent Lena. She dizzily looked up at her once friend and tried to clear her blurry vision.
"Kara... please.. it's a trap." She said tiredly and tensed up as Hank slightly tightened his grip waking her up a little.
"I'm not going anywhere." Supergirl said standing tall and puffed up her chest, ready for anything that comes her way. "What do you want with her?" Kara asked angrily.
"Ah well we didn't need for her to open the vault because well as I see you have already helped us with that," Lillian said slightly approaching, but was still a good distance away, "we just needed her for you. The only way to lure you here."
"And what do you want with me?" Kara spat in a question and narrowed her eyes.
"That question could have a lot of answers." Lillian said bluntly and simply shrugged. "But in here no one can here you. And most importantly you can't call for help." The Luthor glanced around the room as she spoke with a small wave of the hand.
"Let Lena go and just take me if that's what you want. Lena doesn't have to get hurt." Supergirl said relaxing her shoulders showing her surrender.
Lena seemed to tense up more at the idea though. She didn't want Supergirl, or shall she say Kara, to get hurt. Or hell have her alien best friend that was the number one threat in an alien killing project just surrender to her mother, second alien-hating person in the world. The first was her psychopathic brother.
