Everything aches.

Everything felt sore.

Kara Zoe-El felt as if she was waking up from a nightmare. And then she realized it.

The nightmare wasn't over.

She shot her eyes open and the sudden movement made her wince in pain.

Once Supergirl opened her eyes again she could take in her surroundings.

It was dark and damp mostly, but around her there were bright lights in Kara's face as if it was some sort of intimidation.

Her feet lay weakly on the ground and Kara's wrists had tight and brittle shackles locked on and the chains stretched out to two poles that held her up.

The Girl of Steel jerked at the chains, but they weren't breaking. The metal just swayed a bit, but seemed unfazed. That's when the faint glimmer of green emitting light caught her eye from inside of the shackles.

"Kryptonite." She mumbled under her breath and slumped her shoulders a bit in defeat.

There was a sudden sound of a heavy door dragging open. Kara strained her back and steadied her feet on the ground trying to look strong at whoever emerges from the darkness.

"Lena..." She breathed out and stared at her once best friend. "Why are you doing this?"

"Because Lex made me see the truth. You aren't a hero, you just pretend and then when you earn the public's trust you just stab them in the back." Lena growled, but refused to look into Kara's eyes. Refused to meet her contact.

"Then after you betrayed me I thought our trust was broken, but it was much worse than that. You released Lex! One of the most psychotic villains on Earth, you just released him with no hesitation!" Lena raised her voice. "Then you ignore me for days! Declined my calls and not responding to my texts! Even when I came to your house, when I was trying to be a good friend you pushed me away!" Her eyes started to well up with glistening tears.

Kara paused for a second taking all of this in before replying, "I-I never broke your brother out of prison. That was your mother, but the reason why I have been ignoring you is because after Lex got out he broke into my house and threatened that he would..." Kara swallowed hard and stuttered with her words, "he threatened to kill my sister unless I stayed away from you." She struggled with her own words as if they were a puzzle.

"No.. no! You are lying! You-you have to be." Lena stumbled a little as her voice trailed off into the air like a thick smoke.

"I'm not. They are manipulating you, they are trying to trick you into thinking that I'm the bad guy, but I promise you Lena that you are not like your mother or your brother. You have tried so hard to be defined differently from your family, but here you stand. You are not like them. You. Are. Lena. Luthor. And she is strong and better than this."

Lena finally met her eyes. Her eyes that were a perfect blend of baby blue and soft green. They spoke on their own. She was telling the truth. But that is what hurt her the most.

Lena opened her eyes to speak, but no sound came out and her words got hitched in her throat like a sticky paste once a voice came into the atmosphere. A cold blood chilling voice.

"Lena, we must go and put our plan into motion. Time to get rid of the kryptonian." Lex stood next to her sister making her seem like a lost puppy.

"Um, Lex, just to t-torture Supergirl more why don't you-uh-map out your brilliant plan right in front of her." Lena stuttered and her stance wasn't strong like Lex's was.
