Torture

Torture.

Not the agonizing pain that came with every ounce of power that designated from her body.

Not the bruises, the scars, the screams.

But it was something that hurt most.

That struck her straight in the heart.

None of that other stuff made a difference. This was the most painful.

That was seeing her sister...

Dying.

In this nightmare that repeated her past, something changed.

Kara never saved Alex.

She still screamed, she still use every piece of willpower that remained, but she just wasn't fast enough.

The chains broke, but the bullet reached Alex before Kara could.

Kara fell to her knees just feet away from her sister's dead body. She sobbed into her hands and the cuffs still stained her wrists.

The combination of Alex's kryptonite and the shackles made her weaker than ever.

Lex simply twiddled with the gun in his fingers and stepped over Alex and to helpless Kara.

He kneeled down grabbed the back of her hair and forced Supergirl to look up at his towering figure.

Her face was scarred with green veins and it was red from tears. Her cheeks were wet and she sniffled.

"And then the Girl of Steel broke."

His hot breath hit her face and he let go and took his fist and thrusted it across her jaw.

Kara let out a whimper as laid on the ground, completely venerable.

Blood spilled from her lip and she spit up the dark red liquid.

Lex stood up, snickering. Lillian then stood next to him as they looked down on Earth's champion forced to the ground.

Kara looked back up her eyes showed something new.

Hurt, fear, pain, loneliness, sadness, anger, loss, worry, ...

Broken.

Lex pointed the gun to her head and pulled the trigger. Blackness.

Next thing Kara knew she fluttered her eyes open and Alex and Maggie came running in with Agent Michaels.

Her arms were chained up in the same place.

It was happening all over again.
