Moments passed.
Alex came racing through the crowd with tears racing down her cheeks.
"KARA!" She screamed and every step felt like giant stones were chained to her ankles, dragging her down.
She gave out and fell to her knees. "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" The scream rattled her bones and her head crippled into her hands as tears soaked her skin.
Maggie raced to her girlfriend and cuddled up next to her and rubbed her hand against her shoulder.
"Shhh, shhh. It's gonna be okay." She whispered.
Then there was a beep.
They both looked up. And everybody else's attention was drawn to Kara's monitor.
Her heart... it thumped.
"Thank God..." Maggie breathed out in awe.
They all stood frozen and it beeped again.
Alex pushed herself back, so the kryptonite wouldn't affect her.
"She's okay...she's okay." Alex whispered to herself between breaths.
"That's not the first time that's happened." J'onn said calmly as he walked in.
"When were the other times?" Maggie asked quickly.
"Well, whenever Alex has been around. I'm sorry to tell you Alex, but I'm not letting you visit or even come near Kara."
She kept her head low and only shook her head as she pushed herself up and grudged... paced... walked... away.
Her feet shuffled against the ground.
Every step she felt the weight of the world on her shoulders.
And so she left...alone.
Alone.

About twenty minutes later only Mon-el stayed at Supergirl's side. Alex was home and Maggie had chased after her like a stray puppy.
Jimmy was at work and Winn was to busy tracking down Cadmus.
So Mon-El sat there for a while. There was no point of being there. No point of him sitting there for what felt like hours just gazing at a beautiful girl who's life is at stake. No point of crushing on someone who was dying.
But he didn't believe so.
He believes that sitting there rises hope in his chest that soon she'll open her baby blue eyes. That falling in love with a girl who deserves the world, but the world doesn't deserve her. He believes that she'll strive and take on anything in her path. That she will live.
And nothing can change that for him.
He kept wondering what was happening inside of her head.
Memories.
Memories thundered in her mind.
The second that the cry for her sister escaped her lips to the second she landed her on the ground. And every moment in between.
Kryptonite veins crackling.
Chains quaking.
Cape flying.
Hitting the hot ground.
It all just repeated. Over and over and over again.
Blackness to screams. Pain to agony. Loss to hurt. Tears to cries. It was torture.
And it never stopped.
