"NOOOOOOO!" Kara Zor-El let the scream escape her lips and echo and shake the atmosphere.
Time slowed down.
Stopped.
The bullet still airborne making its way to Alex's head.
The Girl of Steel felt every bone rattle.
Every vein of blood raced like a fast paced river.
Every thought decimate.
Except one. Alex.
Nothing else mattered. Not Lena. Not Lillian or Lex. Not Cadmus. Not Maggie. Not the 'S' symbol she wore content on her chest.
Nothing, but her sister.
Her cries of terror tore and tightened her skin and flooded her veins.
Hot, salty tears stained her red rosy
cheeks and reigned down the feeling of guiltiness over her body.Fire hot fury boiled her blood.
Horrifying fear drummed her heart.
Her muscles felt as if they were ripping apart. Delicately shredding the meat and her well earned brawn.
But that didn't matter to the great hero. The only thing that mattered was the faltering figure of her sister that laid before her.
A flicker of light, raging wrath, shimmered in her stinging eyes.
Her beautiful blooming boots pushed against the ground. All of her force connected with the earth forcing the concrete to crack and snap stretching in all directions.
The shackles shook and agitated under the will of her bone white knuckles and tense god powered shoulders.
The trembling steel shattered and showered down around her. The weakening stone was still laced around her bruised purple wrists.
She pushed onto her front foot while pulling forward her back knee that still bowed to the ground.
Her body pushed forward at lightning speed the wind hitting her exhausted face and shimmered through her famous blush cape.
Her last ounces of will power pushed her as her fist pummeled forward.
She wrapped her arm gently around her dear older sister. She took her other hand and slammed her fingers and strangled the led bullet mid-air obliterating it completely under her steel crackling green skin.
The selfless hero curled her arm delicately now cradling her nearest and dearest.
She held her head close to her and clenched her tear filled eyes close. Pushing with all of the force left in her brittle body the blonde rockets forward.
Her impact came in contact with Lex's still body. The second her invincible flesh brushed against the human's feeble exterior you could her every bone in his corpse immediately be annihilated into millions of pieces. The man's heart instantly stops.
She bursts out of the wall and flies seven brief miles before crashing to the ground. Before she fell she let go of Alex as she fell three feet before gently landing on the scorching sand and dirt.
Kara's figure dived downward to the dry land and and she skits across the bared soil rolling off.
Her body was so weak that the hot gravel burned her skin. The sun made her face red and blotchy. The kryptonite that was cuffed around her wrists was making her wither out at every passing second.
The drenching sweat made her hair damp and stick to her soft skin. The dirt and sand begrimed her suit that stands for hope in her gorgeous city.
The Maiden of Might groaned and whimpered aloud taking sharp breath that she could barely make out her beaten lungs.
She blinked a couple times and opened her eyes. Gleaming light stung her vision and sand blurrier it, but she could barely make out the unconscious body that lay a couple feet away.
She smiled the warmest smile and her eyes flooded with the once forbidden hope.
Alex was safe, and that was all that mattered.
Kara's smile slowly faded away as she closed her eyes.
