She took a step forward in the frozen time. Nothing is moving. Even the air is still. Stiff. She took the knife delicately into her fingers and squeezed. It shattered, not even a drip of blood dropping from her hand.
She stared at Lillian's cold and grim expression, her lips are twisted into a gruesome smile. She looked back at her sister and saw her face is frozen in a state of panic. A bubble of anger boiled in Kara's throat.
She suddenly spun around on her heels, grabbed Lillian Luthor by the neck, lifting her up, time suddenly returning with a vengance.
Lillian lifted into the sky, gagging and choking, gasping for air. Hatred burned in Kara's eyes as Alex jumped with realization. "Ah, the Girl of Steel got her powers back?" The Luthor cackled. "Amusing."
Kara's eyes lit up in a blaze as she squeezed tighter around Lillian's throat. She croaked and dangled her legs back and forth helplessly.
"Kara, stop!" Alex cried and grabbed her shoulder. She didn't stop. "You're killing her!"
"So? She has ruined this family over and over again! She will never stop until every alien on this planet is dead!" Kara growled, her anger boiling over the edges.
"Kara, please! I know that she is bad, but she can rot in a jail cell for the rest of her life, for all I care! But this will ruin you. You can't do this."
Her words are true. Lillian' s death may help the world, but it will crush the Girl of Steel. She will never recover. The hero will never be the same. The Girl of Steel might just finally...break.
The light from her eyes dimmed and she dropped the Luthor. Lillian choked and breathed heavily as she kneels on the carpet. Kara's arms go limp and she turns to her sister.
"I'm sorry." She whispered.
"It's okay. Im just happy you didn't do it."
What she means by it is kill her. Kara would have killed her if her sister didn't stop her. The hero inside her would die.
They returned Lillian to the State's top security prison. But, of course, Cadmus still lives. Who knows when they would return?
But tonight, Kara found out something about herself. She saw her true colors.
