*Six years later*

Blue eyes of twelve year old, Lyla met the ceiling of her room.
She laid in her bed, staring before slowly sitting up.
She let out a soft yawn, removing herself from her bed.
Walking over to her dresser, she looked in the mirror, her brown hair all over the place.
Grabbing her brush, she winced hitting the tangles, until her hair was straight.

It was the first day of Jr.High, and she was beyond nervous.
Lydia was the complete opposite, she was excited to make more friends.
Yeah, they had Andy and Zayne, but Lydia was the social butterfly.
Walking over to her closet, she grabbed her blue shirt and black pants.
Quickly changing, she exited her room to only bump into her twin.

Lydia was in a yellow sun dress, with black leggings, her blonde hair pulled into a braided bun.
They exchanged looks, at what the other was wearing.
"You're wearing that?" They asked in unison.
Lydia glared softly.
"Lyla, its the first day of seventh grade, looks matter. We are one step closer, to High School and I want to be recognized, when I enter there." She stated.
Lyla rubbed her upper arm, with a soft frown.
"Its just, seventh grade.." She murmured now.

Lydia rolled her tea green eyes.
"I'm sure, Zayne and Andy want to look their best, on the first day of school." She said.
Lyla blinked.
"Um, Andy doesn't care what he looks like? Remember, he wore his PJ's to town.. then to the park?" She reminded her sister.
Lydia paled.
"Oh yeah, how could I forget?" She asked, earning the two to laugh.

Lydia smiled.
"At least, let me do something with your hair!" She beamed.
Lyla sighed.
"Fine, then will you back off?" She asked.
Grinning, Lydia nodded.

"Girls! Hurry up, your dad has the car running! Gas isn't exactly free!" Their mom yelled from downstairs.
"There! All done!" Lydia smiled.
Lyla looked in the mirror, her hair pulled into a high pony tail.
She looked to her sister, a soft smile.
"Alright, cool. Lets go, gas isn't exactly free." She mimicked their mom, earning them to laugh.

"Are you nervous?" Caleb asked in the driver seat, looking at the road then in the rear view mirror to his girls.
Lyla nodded, as Lydia shook her head grinning.
Emma looked to Lyla, a soft smile.
"You have nothing to be nervous about, sweetie. Its kind of like, elementary school? Except, you're bigger.. also, Andy will be there." She added.

Caleb glanced to his wife.
"Maybe, they'll get lucky and make some girl-friends." He said.
Emma grinned.
"Andy and Zayne, are good kids. You and Derek, get along well, just like me and Chelsie do." She
Caleb rolled his eyes, as they drove up to the school.
Parking, he turned to the girls.
"You'll both do fine, make friends, its only the first day of Jr.High. Elementary, was only the start of memories, Jr.high and High School; will be the real places. You'll make memories at, school is a place for learning, but its also a place to make friends and enjoy your time with them." He explained.

Lyla smiled with a nod.
"Thank you, dad. I don't feel as nervous now." She told him.
He grinned, then watched as Lydia eagerly pulled her twin out of the car.
"Have a good first day!" Their parents called to them.
The girls gave them thumbs up, before running into the school.

**Lyla's pov**

There were kids everywhere, Lydia wouldn't stop smiling and trying to greet other kids.
I suddenly, felt more nervous.
Dad's little speech, helped for that moment, but coming into the school... just wow.
I looked around, trying not to make eye contact with anyone.
I didn't like eye contact, I didn't like crowds..
Yeah, me and Lydia.. we were the complete opposite of each other.

"Lyla! Lydia!" I turned to the sound of my name, before smiling brightly.
Our childhood friends, ran straight up to us.
Andy and Zayne Vega.
I had a closer bond, with Andy than I did with Zayne for some reason.
Andy was a dork, to be honest, but I was able to relate more to him.
Which was how, we clicked, I guess?
Andy was pretty attractive, for a twelve year old.
He had wavy black hair, and grayish blue eyes.
Zayne, was also attractive, I guess.
He had straight brown hair, and hazel eyes.

"Are you nervous?" Andy asked, flashing that grin of his.
I smiled softly.
"Kinda yeah...  our dad was trying, to help me not feel nervous, but when we came into the building. I-"
"Got really nervous?" Andy asked me.
I nodded, then jumped feeling Zayne's arm drape over my shoulders.
"Don't be nervous! You got your coolest friends here, and I guess Lydia." He teased.

Lydia flashed him a playful glare, before shoving him.
"You wish you were cool." She smiled.
Zayne grinned.
"What was it, you called me and Andy in elementary school?" He turned to his brother who smirked.
I watched color drain, from my sisters face.
"We're your super cool besties!" Zayne and Andy sang in unison.

Lydia covered her ears, blushing as the students stopped and looked to the four.
"Shut up!" She cried.
Zayne grinned widely.
"You love us." He said.
Lydia rolled her eyes, still blushing.
"Hardly." She said, as the school bell rang.

"Time for class! Who has what first?" Andy asked.
I looked at my schedule.
"Um, Ms.Gates, English." I told him.
"Oh, awesome!" Andy grinned, before ripping me away from Lydia and Zayne.
When we made it to our class, my hair was already falling down.
"Ugh." I groaned, pulling my hair down.
Andy arched a brow as we walked into the classroom.
"Why did you put your hair up?" He asked.

I shrugged.
"Lydia suggested it, said looks mattered on the first day." I said.
Andy rolled his eyes.
"Lyla, if my parents would of allowed it, I would of worn my PJ's to school. Don't listen to her, about looks, just be you." He told me with a smile.
I smiled with a nod.
"Thanks, Andy. I needed that." I said.
Andy nodded, I glanced to him and saw that his cheeks were a little pink.
Why was he blushing?

"Where do you want to sit? Remember, our seats that we pick, are what we're stuck with the whole year." He told me.
I looked around the class.
"In the back." I answered quickly.
Andy nodded, not arguing.

**Lydia's pov**

"I love your dress!" One girl beamed as I smiled brightly.
"Thank you! My dad bought it for me!" I beamed.
Zayne rolled his eyes.
"You sound like a daddy's girl." He told me.
I rolled my eyes.
"So what? There's no harm in being one." I defended.
Zayne shrugged.
"I guess not, I just wouldn't keep up the rich spoiled brat, act." He told me.
I glared softly.
"I'm not a spoiled brat." I hissed.
"Your tone says otherwise." He said.
I frowned deeply.
"Yeah? And what is Lyla?" I demanded.

Zayne looked to me, frowning.
"Why do you need a comparison of your sister?" He asked, his brows furrowed now.
I glared.
"Why are you avoiding the question?" I asked.
Zayne sighed.
"Lyla is herself, she doesn't try to please anyone, she doesn't throw herself out there. She doesn't ask for attention. She doesn't act spoiled, or even rich." He told me.
Tears swelled, as I aggressively wiped my eyes.
"Zayne, you're such a jerk!" I cried, running out of the classroom.

I ran straight into the girls bathroom, in the nearest stall.
"Lyla is herself, she doesn't try to please anyone, she doesn't throw herself out there. She doesn't ask for attention. She doesn't act spoiled, or even rich."

He's such a jerk! Why did Lyla have to be her opposite!? Why did she get the good impression, from people?

I just wanted to make friends, not seem like I was a spoiled rich kid with cute clothes..
Tears slipped, as I held my knees to my chest.
Lyla was always the favorite, she was always sweet and calm. She never tried to push herself, she did what she could.
She was an amazing sister..
I was jealous of her.

She won over Andy, before I could, I had to settle for Zayne.
Zayne was my best friend, but I wanted Andy.
Why does she get what she wants? She doesn't even have to ask, its just handed to her.

I walked out of the bathroom, back into the classroom.
Our history teacher, Mr.Hayes stood there, scowling.
"Miss.Thorn, how nice for you to leave our classroom, then come back on your own time. Would you like, to share with the class, just what you were doing?" He asked.
Heat raced to my cheeks, as the class looked to me.

"It was my fault, Mr.Hayes." Zayne stated, standing up by his desk.
My eyes grew wide, at how serious he looked.
Mr.Hayes, crossed his arms looking to Zayne.
"Oh? How so, Mr.Vega?" He asked.
Zayne looked to me.

"I got upset, and made her cry. That's why she ran out, its my fault she's late." He explained.
Kids began whispering, as Zayne's jaw clenched.
"He made a girl cry?"
"Wow, not cool."
"He was a cool kid, in elementary."
"What a jerk."

"Alright that's enough!" Mr.Hayes demanded.
His eyes fell on Zayne.
"Zayne, you will stay after class. Miss. Thorn, please go have a seat." He instructed.
I quickly nodded, glancing to Zayne, who frowned deeply.

Why would he do that? Doesn't he realize, what reputation that will give him?
Zayne, you're such an idiot!

Wow! Huge difference, from when I type on my phone.
I can never make the chapters long on my phone, but at a computer.
I have to learn to stop myself xD.
