The run was basically torture for you. 5 miles of pure torture. At first is wasn't so bad, the first two miles were ran in a breeze, but then there were hills, and turns. So many turns. It took just under an hour for all of you to get back, you being the last one, although Yamaguchi did stay with you as he promised, Tsukishima got bored half way through and took off.
With a pout you walked into the gym and grabbed a towel to wipe the sweat offf. "I hated that." you whined and threw your head back dramatically. Yamaguchi let out a little laugh and pat your shoulder as you walked over to Tsukki who was talking to Asahi.
"Don't act like a brat, (l/n)." he glared at you, then his glare turned into a smirk. "Even if you're small enough to be one." he giggled which infuriated you. You pushed past Yamaguchi who was beside you with a look of anger on your face, and with a grunt you grabbed Tsukishima by the collar of his t-shirt and shoved him against the wall. He looked at you startled, then smirked.
"I'd wipe that smirk off your face before I do it for you," you started, your voice low and your look menacing, "and I'd watch what you say with that mouth of yours, you never know what could happen to it when you're least expecting it." you warned through clenched teeth, the atmosphere becoming increasingly thick and unnerving.
"Is that a threat?" he asked confidently, though his eyes said different.
You pulled him back off the wall slightly before pushing him back on it and raising him off his feet. Where you go the strength from was unknown to you, all you knew was that you liked it. "I don't do threats, it's a promise." you spat out staring at him and he stared back. Unfortunately you were blind to what was going on around you, so you failed to notice a certain captain making his way towards you with a look on his face you'd wish to never see again.
In the midst of yours and Tsukishima's show-down, and hand gripped your shoulder, pulling you out of your focus. Fear. That's all you felt when you noticed Daichi and his not so welcoming smile, you were partly embarrassed when you noticed everyone staring at you. "(L/n)," Daichi began, a cold hard tone lacing your name, "outside now." he ordered. You were perplexed as to why it was only you and not the blonde as well, but you figured arguing the case was way out of the question. And so with your tail between your legs, you followed the captain out the gym doors, the whispers amongst the other players becoming cheap background noise as your impending doom deafened you.
When the doors to the gym closed and you and Daichi were a safe distance away from any possible eavsedroppers (Tanaka and Noya), you began to try to explain yourself. "Daichi-san, I'm sorry I didn't mean to, well I did, but like- it's just, he was being a-" you were cut off from your rambling.
"A dumbass." he finished.
"Well that's the polite way to put it but yeah." you mumbled, scuffing your feet on the dirt floor. You heard Daichi sigh and you looked up.
"He called you a brat right? I don't see the big deal, wasn't much of an insult so I don't see why that caused you to blow." his eyes bore into yours as if looking for something, making you furrow your brows and lean back a bit.
"Uh, Daichi-san, you alright there? You look constipated." you jumped as he shot you a look and giggled nervously. "Sorry." you muttered.
"(L/n)-san, are you alright? Is there something going on between you and Tsukishima, or anything at home? You seem more short fused." he finally asked. At this you turned bright red. You didn't really think he'd catch on. 'This soon?' you thought to yourself.
You backed away. "Uh, well-um-you see Daichi the thing is-I-uh-well-really it's like-I-sort of-" he stared at you weirdly.
"Uh (L/n)-san, spit it out."
