Softly, you pushed the archer away, a sad smile on your face. Moments of your one night stand with his brother filtered through your mind and plagued your thoughts.
"What's wrong?" The heavily accented voice pulled my eyes toward his. Torn with guilt, you gave a smile that would hopefully reassure him.
"Nothing, just remembering old times."

A wave of déjà vu hit you stronger than anything else as you walked to your room. The pristine walls and the agents roaming the base reminded you sharply of your time in Switzerland. You remembered the banter that would pass between you and Amélie, discussing the social lives of the other agents, the jokes you and Captain Amari would trade.
You could see your reflection, an entirely different person than the one who worked for Blackwatch. You no longer walked like you were out for murder, your eyes no longer looked cold and angry, your hands lay relaxed in your pockets instead of curled into fists. Life away from the force had done you good, now it was only a matter of getting back into it. With a sigh, you rounded the corner and stood outside your room, leaning your head against the door.
"Life is so complicated," you murmured to yourself before letting the door slide open. Walking in, you slumped towards your bed and practiced breathing.
"This is a disaster," you convinced yourself, "What happens if Hanzo finds out about that one night stand? What would Genji think if he hears about that kiss? How did I go from a cold killer to a teen stuck in drama?"
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in...
"Athena, bring up all current locations of the Overwatch agents."
A map of blue light began to weave itself on the ceiling, little moving red dots displaying each person in the facility. Most seemed to collect in clusters, other agents speaking with other agents.
"Highlight Hanzo Shimada as blue, and Genji Shimada as Green."
You watched with tired eyes as the two of the dots changed color. Genji seemed to be walking the same hallway you were moments ago. Hanzo was still in the training area and seemed to be either sparring with someone or in a discussion.
Waving a hand through the center of it, the map dissipated like a reflection through the broken water.
Breathe in.
Breath out.
Breath-
A knock.
"(Y/N)?"
Your breath caught in your throat.
"Come in," you replied, sitting up in your bed. You watched as the door slid open and a white foot stepped in. Genji watched you from behind his visor while you watched him behind a careful smile.
"I've still got to get used to your new appearance. I left before I could see your new suit, remember?" You teased, referring to the sleek white and green cybersuit. Your eyes glimmered with newfound mirth and you stood up from your position on the bed. The samurai's shoulders relaxed at the easy conversation and he lifted his arms, marveling at its complexity.
"I had forgotten," he replied, a hint of a laugh evident in his filtered voice. You took his arm delicately, exploring the finer points of the armor, the different plates and tendons. Your eyes grew in scientific wonder.
"I missed a lot while I was gone, didn't I?" you whispered. You watched his suit breathe with him as he chuckled.
"You did."
For the second time that day, you froze. A cool hand had placed itself on your cheek, rubbing its thumb against your skin gently. It was a practiced gentleness, like he still retained the skills of his youth. A silence passed between you. He made no move, just stood there and held you. It was almost comforting, not to have anything rushed and to let your thoughts calm themselves. You found yourself circled by his other arm, the one you had dropped in your shock. His chest in front of you breathed in a calm pace, lending you a strength you didn't know you needed.
"Genji?" you whispered, watching your hands rise and fall ever so slightly against his chest. You heard a hiss and looked up. The hand that had previously held your cheek now held his visor, displaying his scarred face to you without shame. You had seen him broken already, and he was not shy about showing you what you had already seen.
"(Y/N)," he countered. He was smirking now, smug in the vulnerability he seemed to be capable of placing you time after time. You frowned at him, not looking to play his game.
"What are you doing?" Your question only made his smirk grow.
"Staking my claim," his response elicited a glare from you, to which he chuckled, "I'm not blind, (Y/N). I can see how Hanzo seeks your hand, he has since we were children. I'm only making it clear to you that he isn't your only option here. I enjoyed our time together in Hanamura, we could have the same thing here."
You were overcome with embarrassment, "Hanzo had a crush on me since we were children?"
"Hai, myself as well, but I was more accepting of the fact that you were promised to someone else. He accepted his father's wishes, but that didn't make him accept it all together. Now, however, you're a free woman who's matured quite beautifully. Its hard to ignore such signs," he confessed, still smiling. You hid your face in his chest. Apparently, your silence spoke volumes, for he released you with a laugh and returned his visor. Pausing in the doorway, he nodded to you before leaving, letting the door slide shut behind him.
"I hate life," you murmured to yourself.
