It didn't take you long to spring back from your injuries, it never did. Within a fortnight, you were right back on your feet again. Now, with the sun rising on your second day back on the job, you could finally breathe easy again. Sitting atop the roof of Gibraltar was peaceful. It was a practice you dearly missed. Oddly enough, it was one Genji had started to join you in.

Leaning back, you turned your gaze from the sunrise to the unmasked companion beside you.

"What missions do you have today?" You asked, your thoughts wandering back to the last mission he was on.

"Athena is sending me to Numbani with McCree, apparently there's a rumour that the Deadlock gang is planning a break in somewhere in that area."

Giving a nod, you thought over his response. If the both of them were there, you didn't  think you'd have to worry. Your thoughts drifted instead to your own plans for the day. Soldier 76 had requested you visit Dorado in search of a certain hacker, though you didn't think that would prove much of a problem considering your skill in stealth.

You felt a hand grasp your own, and looked down to find the cybernetic digits of the ninja beside you. He did not turn his head your way, but his voice still resonated loudly in your ears as if he had been an inch apart.

"I want you to be safe, while you're gone. Okay?" His voice was steady, without waver, but that didn't hide the raw emotion you could see on his face. "I know you think you're invincible, that you bounce back quickly and that you've escaped death more than once, but please be careful while you're out there. Please?"

With a solemn nod, you pulled your eyes away from his direction. It wasn't long after that his fingers disentangled from yours and he disappeared off the roof.

With a heavy sigh, you sat under the sun's rays.

The streets were dirtied with litter. The skies dulled in their brilliance by the blinding light of the power plant. Dorado was a truly odd place, one you hoped you wouldn't find yourself in for a while. It starkly contrasted the beauty of Nepal or Hanamura, but what could be done?

Sticking to the shadows in the alleyway, you were leaned against a brick wall while some goons on the other end bickered about some deadbeat. Their faces highlighted into the shaped of skulls, and their attire and attitude more goon like and punk. Needless to say they were not a smart bunch, but it still proved the better option to stay under the cover of darkness.

When one of them started to lead the others off, you cautiously pursued. Someone had let you know that this group was somehow connected with the hacker you were supposed to find. Something to do with past ties. Your eyes flickered to every inch of the walls, looking for signs of ambush, but the only danger you found was that of the three men you were pursuing.

When they rounded the corner, you did not blindly follow. Pausing a moment to listen for sound, you waited until you were sure the footsteps were disappearing before attempting to round the corner into the light. They were still walking away, and as you moved to follow them, you noticed your exits close off with the appearance of several similarly dressed men. Putting space between yourself and them, you caught eyes with one that grinned maniacally at you.

"Well look who we've got here," he called, a few of his buddies letting out a couples whistles and hoots.  "Seems to me like a little lady might've wandered too far from the hotel..."

Your hand hovered over the gun on your belt.

"Come on girlie, don't put up fuss and we won't hurt you, unless you're into that kind of thing of course," he laughed.

In one fluid motion, you had your gun in your hand, and it's barrel pressed against his temple.

He stilled

And he

Smiled

"Well girlie, I'm afraid you took the wrong  option." Your eyes drew to a small movement of his hand, but it was too late.

A loud cry erupted from you as your body crumpled under the electric shock running through you. Your lungs felt like they were being fried from the inside out.

Your captor keeled down in front of you, holding a small remote in his hands.

"Man, this thing really is rad. I'm kinda glad I stole it. Here, why don't you be my test subject?"

The electrical current flared inside you, forcing your muscles to contract. Your cry of torment only seemed to egg him on.

Your world was fading to black when you heard the most unusual of sounds. A black must seemed to flood your senses, interrupted only by glimpses of bright magenta. Gun fire, both quick, and some in large bursts, sounded around you, accompanied by cries of agony.

"You're safe with me, niña."

And as the darkness enveloped you, seeming to gather you into its arms, you almost believed her...
