Rant [Read if you must!] #1

Well, firstly, if you have decided to read this, I'd like to say that this update is not a one shot. And though this update will be overriden when I post all the one shots which are now drafts, it still doesn't change the fact that many fans are upset. Right? Right.

I am sure that all of you are aware of the situation going on currently. Kris has apparently filed a lawsuit with Hankyul Law Firm to terminate his contract early. This has affected many fans internationally, because as you know, EXO is very well known even overseas. But that is besides the point. There is even talk that a fan of Kris has committed suicide after hearing the dreadful rumours.

Many fans also say that perhaps it is a name mix-up with another performer, "Chris". I shall not say any more on the mix-up theory, because I don't think that the idea is feasible, as much as I would like to believe it, the news reports and blogs tell a different story.

Didn't some EXO members follow Kris on Instagram?

Yes, they did. This is a social media footprint that cannot be denied by any fan. There were some pictures circulated on the net of EXO's manager holding Chanyeol's phone, along with other phones belonging to other members. I am sure that everyone knows that Chanyeol has Instagram, so it is a possibility that SM is controlling EXO's Instagram accounts.

Why didn't Baekhyun unfollow him?

I'm not sure about this. However, there are rumours on Allkpop Forums that Baekhyun was slapped. It is stated that the manager wanted to take away EXO's phones, or rather, confiscate their phones, but Baekhyun lied, saying that he had left his phone in the dorm (the members were not in the dorms at that time). When the SM staff found out that he had lied, they slapped him.

Again, I repeat that I am not certain about this, but I do believe there is some ring of truth behind the confiscation of their phones. About Baekhyun getting slapped? Perhaps. I feel sorry for him if he was punished, for I am sure he was just trying to send an indirect message to SM that idols are humans too, and they have a social life. And don't most fans feel that too?

What about the Instagram updates [Tao, Chanyeol and Sehun]?

Ah, the woes of having a social life as an idol. Well, Tao posted a really long rant in Chinese and here is the translation:

"The road is long, and no one can decide where you want to go. The public will always be left in the dark, but it might be that the public will side with who is in the minority. However that's not the truth. Only those who have experienced the truth are able to understand, such as our 11 members and SM employees. To those on the outside, the right and wrong could be reflected oppositely."

"They probably won't know what it feels like to be betrayed by another person and then to have everyone side with the person who has betrayed us. Everyone can have their own perspectives and opinions. However, the truth is pointing to what is right and wrong. We have a clear conscience. We can't stop someone who wants to leave, and he kept this from us. As we were sweating and practicing hard for our concert, we learned that one wouldn't be coming back. We have to restart preparations for the concert as 11 members. So tired. EXO, let's love.

To be truthful, I don't think this is Tao at all. There is speculation that it is, there is speculation that it isnt. I believe SM could have controlled Tao's phone after confiscating it, and could have posted this. Firstly, we can gauge that Tao knows and has assessed the situation, if that even is him. What happened to the Peacock Oppa that was so enthusiastic in Happy Camp?

We all know Tao as the effervescent personality in EXO M, the AB Style, the Kungfu Panda. Would he really complain about practice? Would he really post all this despite what is happening around him? Everyone, Kris has allegedly filed a lawsuit against SM, the same company Tao is in. Even the company itself has not given an official statement about the lawsuit, let alone, how can Tao?

It is clear that many fans are greatly affected by this matter, and I am one of them. However, Tao posting about Kris leaving? He could do that if he wanted to get kicked out of the company, for he had said something that SM didn't confirm. But to be very truthful, I don't think he did.

As for Sehun, I think that he should have posted the picture of the question mark with the caption '...' as he probably knows about the situation. Let me get this clear, every EXO member knows about this. If Kris is leaving, they could be crying over him as you read this. Or they could be plain angry, I don't know. Sehun is confused, upset and possibly scared, though fans often overlook his emotions hidden behind his poker face of sorts.

I'm not entirely certain about Chanyeol's update of the Chinese phrase meaning 'reward virtue and punish evil'. But there is a certain connotation that the evil is Kris, observing from what is happening currently.

Why would Kris want to leave?

I think that perhaps, Kris wants to spend more time with his family members. His relatives are possibly close to him, and he feels the need to support them financially and emotionally. SM is known for not giving their idols time to rest, especially TVXQ in the past, and the trend has  spread to EXO.

Conclusion

To end off, I would just like to say that EXO is One. Many times since 2012, you have heard this, but this year, we will come to know and realise what it truly means. In fact, in my fanfiction Underdog, the underlying message is, without any member, EXO will not be the EXO we know today. We cannot just depend on SM to solve things for us, nor can we seek the reality that future fans may be chanting only 11 names in their performances.

Let us just continue to support EXO and stay with them through the tough times, and may the bond of 12 forever remain intact in the years to come.
