[Before you read, the context of this chapter is that Chanyeol is writing to his girlfriend of three years]
"Noona~" A young boy on the street approached you, handing you a lavender envelope. You were slightly surprised but took the letter.
"Who is this from?"
"Noona, I don't know. It's a man with big ears. He's tall..."
"Arasso~" You smiled at the description. It was none other than your boyfriend, Park Chanyeol, or you affectionately nicknamed, Dobi.
My dear Mi Yun,
I am not able to tell you this in person because my mother has forbidden me to leave the house. In fact, I am probably crying my heart out as you speak. I know how you will react. Your Happy Virus is gone, gone forever? You would comfort the me who cannot be comforted.
My mother thinks that you are not suitable for me, Mi Yun ah. She says you are too clingy. I've pleaded with her thousands, no millions, of times but she won't listen. And then, she puts me into the worst situation possible - an arranged marriage.
For goodness sakes, I thought this practice was out of date! I-I can't say much, Mi Yun ah, for fear my mother catches me writing letters to you.
A is for aegyo, your aegyo never fails to make my day. Whether I'm feeling down sometimes because of the school band, or maybe my pet passed away, you cheer me up. Don't you know that you are my light, you are the highlight of every day? Yes, you most certainly are.
B is for best, you have been the best girlfriend an ordinary guy could ever wish for. Whether it's hanging out with Sehun at the bubble tea shop, or playing tag with Baekhyun, you are always happy and smiling. Maybe you should take over the title of Happy Virus.
Lastly, but certainly not least, C is for Vitamin Channie, who will always love you. Though the seasons will pass, and people will change, my love for you is undying. But I know you well enough that if you got the chance to talk to me, you would chide and tell me to be kind to my wife-to-be. So I will try, for your sake and your sake only.
I love you, Mi Yun ah. Mianhae.
Park Chanyeol [Dobi]
And, scrawled over the back of the envelope in barely legible hangul, were the words 'Lee Mi Yun, he is breaking up with you. Go away.'
You didn't cry, you just sat in your armchair. Your fingers were numb, all the feelings rushing to your head. A stinging and throbbing pain in your feet resulted in your inability to move. It was no doubt that his mother didn't want you two to be together, but the last time you checked, you had been a faithful girlfriend.
A resounding knock echoed throughout the room, hurting your eardrums. Opening the door, Chanyeol's mum greeted you, a smug smirk on her face. And behind her? A sobbing Park Chanyeol, his hands brought up to his face, wiping his tears furiously away.
His tears were hot, his eyes were contorted in evident sorrow.
Your nose was slightly swollen, your hands were quaking.
His eyes met yours. The eyebags below his eyes were accentuated by the glistening tears running down his cheeks, which you had kissed many times before. It took all your remaining strength to not reach up and wipe the tears away, for his mother was watching.
"How sweet," She said sarcastically, pushing you roughly away from Chanyeol. He opened his mouth to say something in rebuttal, but she stopped him mid sentence.
"Say one more word, Park Chanyeol, and I'll take back my offer," She silenced him.
"You two are permitted to hug for the final time. Girl, never expect to see my son again. Please don't exchange words, or I'll be getting my hands bloody," She flicked her long hair off her shoulder with her impeccably manicured fingernails, ironically painted blood red.
He pulled you close to him, wrapping you in his warm arms. Tears dripped like rain onto your now tousled hair, but you didn't care. It was the last time you could bask in his warmth and you might as well enjoy it. As you put your chin on his shoulder, his mother's glare pierced through your very soul, making you whimper unintentionally.
Chanyeol couldn't take it anymore, seeing you in the helpless state you were in.
"Mianhae," He whispered, caressing your cheek gently, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear. Unfortunately, his mother heard what he had just said and a murderous look came onto her face.
"What did I say?!" She yanked Chanyeol violently by the ear out the door, slamming it so hard that splinters flew everywhere.
It took you moments of shock to realise that he was gone, yes, gone. His mother would make sure you wouldn't be able to come to his house, let alone being able to converse with him.
"It's okay, Chanyeol," You hugged your knees as tight as you could, your fingernails leaving deep scratch marks in your flawless skin. You pinched yourself so hard to the extent that the tender skin on your arm was soon bleeding.
"I forgive you," You opened the kitchen drawer, and took out the knife, its blade glinting in the afternoon sunlight streaming in through the window.
-------------------
I might consider writing a sequel, but it isn't possible because Mi Yun just killed herself.
Do you like this one shot? I think it's the saddest one I've written so far. Enjoy!
Wait, don't enjoy *hands you a tissue*
