He was your bully. And you were his victim. Do Kyungsoo was the definition of mean and the antonym of kind. He was a snob, a rich snob, and always had been. Since he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, he could snap his fingers and a chaffeur would appear to take him home. Well, not really.
Your classmates, boys and girls alike, would flock around him every day during lunch, asking to eat with him, asking to take a picture with him. His answer? A plain no. Instead, he would advance towards you and throw his bag to you, saying, "I want this at the usual table in three minutes."
And you would have no choice but to obey him. He never stated the consequences if you refused to help him, and you had no intention of knowing either. He was a tyrant, and he meant what he said.
With this fact in mind, you found it hard to dismiss his confession.
"Why do you always target me to do all your work, to carry your bags, to queue for food? Can't you find someone else?" You finally asked him.
"Ah, it's because you're special. It's not that others aren't special, it's that I like you. No, I think I love you."
Mean as he was, Kyungsoo had never lied to you.
And one fateful day, he asked you to buy him a drink from the nearby vending machine.
"Yah, you said you loved me right? Then show me you care!" You blurted out, unwilling to budge an inch.
"Really?" He asked.
You nodded instantly.
"Close your eyes." He gave an instruction, and unconsciously, you obeyed.
Then, you felt something soft press against your lips, enough to make your mind go haywire. Your heart beat faster, and faster, and even faster, as you realised that Kyungsoo was kissing you. It was your first kiss, and you felt extremely shy. However, his lips were alluring, enchanting, and you eventually calmed down. Both of you moved in tandem as he snaked his arms around your shoulders.
The kiss didn't last for very long, but as he pulled away, leaving you stunned, a realisation dawned on you. Your eyes opened, and your heart opened to a new world of possibilities as well. Even though Kyungsoo had not told you what would be the consequences if you did not follow his every instruction, you had willingly obeyed. Without caring about the outcome, you had chosen to listen to the bully.
And perhaps, now that you thought about it, you loved Kyungsoo.
"Nado," You replied, smiling at him.
"Nado what?" His eyebrows were knit together in a state of confusion.
"Nado saranghae."
Confessions strike you when you least expect them. They're like lightning, dangerous, tumultuous and the outcome is unknown. After lightning, comes thunder. It's the sound produced by lightning, it's the aftermath of a confession. And in the three-second gap between the lightning strike and the clap of thunder, anything can happen.
