Pretence [Kai vs. Kyungsoo] for @SafyreKX

People pretend to love for many different reasons. Some pretend to love in order to gain money, to have a share in whatever advantages their other half has acquired. Others pretend to love, for the sake of their other half, because telling the truth would hurt them too much. However, there is a small minority, that pretend to love, in order to be loved.

Safyre was the prettiest girl in the entire school. You could call her the queenka, for the mere mention of her name could send majority of the student body to go in a frenzy. She was popular, smart, pretty and suited the criteria for Jongin's plan.

Yes, Kim Jongin had a plan. 

One day, he was walking to school with his best friend, Do Kyungsoo.

"Jongin-ah, do you like Safyre?" Kyungsoo asked him curiously.

Jongin, act. Jongin spat out his water and pretended to cough and choke on his saliva. "W-Why would you ask that?" 

"Um, you just seem like you have an interest in her, for you're always talking to her during breaks and insisting on being in her group for all the projects..." Kyungsoo pointed out, hiding the disappointed expression on his face.

"Do I?" Jongin was genuinely surprised. 

"Yeah, but I think she likes me." 

"Fat chance."

"Want to bet on it?"

"You're on."

Like that, the fight of pretence began. 

Kyungsoo sat beside Safyre in class, and when she arrived at school, he seized the opportunity to speak to her. Even opening his mouth to begin a conversation was awkward because she would stare at him with those clear, piercing hazel orbs, and then he would be tongue-tied. That wouldn't be good, would it? He was already on the very top of the to-kill lists of almost all the boys in the school and now his best friend had joined the team. 

Awkward 'Hi'? No.

Smile and wave? That doesn't start any conversation.

Ask about homework? She wouldn't care.

Cheesy pick-up line? Better than nothing.

"Safyre, I know your name sounds like the gem Sapphire, but no gem can ever match your beauty." Kyungsoo blurted out the words before he knew it. Although he didn't mean them at all. 

 A look of distaste came across Jongin's face as he heard Kyungsoo speak. He  sauntered over, and winked at Safyre before she could even react.

Then she did. "Stop, both of you. Please go away."

"Ooh, burnnnn!" Another of their classmates mocked Jongin and Kyungsoo.

At lunch, Jongin and Kyungsoo still sat together.

"You know what? I don't think I like Safyre anymore now, Kyungsoo."

"I never liked her." Kyungsoo said nonchalantly.

"Exactly."

"So who do you like now, Jongin?"

"I like someone tall, but not as tall as me. The person has big, round, chocolate coloured eyes and is 173 cm in height."

"And I like someone tall too, the person is 182 cm in height and dances really well."

"Sounds like me?"

"It doesn't sound like you. It is you. I don't care if the world is against us, but I know that my love for you will never waver, Jongin."

"I love you too, Kyungsoo. Hey, that rhymes."

"Pabo."

At the end of the road, you realise that you don't need to pretend, because you have been loved all along.

The next update will be much much better ~ Mixing angst and fluff is my style! It's a Baekhyun one shot, followed by a Sehun one shot! 

Regarding the Baekyeon situation, please see my biography :) All I can say is that if he is happy, I am happy. But perhaps this is a distraction from the Kris saga?

Sorry for not updating, I was really busy and I was on holiday last week. Updating more today and tomorrow! ^^
