Chapter 6: The First Day

JIN'S POV

Getting settled in wasn't really that big of a deal. I called Dae-Hyun and told him I was alright and then I unpacked and fell asleep. A very uneventful day... I woke up the next day early in the morning and got ready and quietly opened my door and walked into the living room. I saw that Xiumin was already awake. I bowed to him. "good morning." I said to him. He nodded "good morning." he replied. I sat down on the couch and I felt an awkwardness feeling in the air.

I sighed and got out my phone and started to listen to some music. Baekhyun, Tao, and Sehun walked in and sat down. "good morning." they said. I nodded but stayed silent. One by one the members got up. the door knocked and the manager walked in. "Jin." he said. "come with me." we walked outside of the dorm.

He handed me a small stack of papers. "this here is all you need to know about EXO, their likes, their dislikes, favorite foods, allergies, etcetera, etcetera. " " So I'm like their nanny?" I asked. The manager smiled. "no but you must be familiar with your job, no? this is just the basics that you need to know because their safety is your number one priority." "right now they're just going to go and practice but I expect you to keep track of their whereabouts, make sure that everything runs smoothly, araesso?"

"Got it." I replied. "am I allowed to carry my staff?" "As long as it doesn't get in the way." he said. my staff was collapsible so it wouldn't. I nodded and headed back inside, all of the guys were eating and chatting but it got quiet when I walked in. "whae?" I asked defensively. They turned back to talking and I sat in the corner. Baekhyun walked up to me. " aren't you going to eat?" he asked. " no." i replied. and went back to listening to my music. "what are you listening to?" he asked and bent over to look at my phone. I looked to see what was playing and it was Claire de Lune by Debussy. " Oh, you like piano? do you play?" he asked. " a little." I replied. "we'll you should play for me sometime." he said.

I nodded to get him to leave. As they wrapped up eating, they all got up. I stood up also and they all walked to the vans, talking and talking. they would glance over at me but I ignored them, this was a job and that's it; no attachments. They paused. "wait, where is Jin going to sit?" asked D.O. they all stood there pondering. I spoke up. "its fine, don't worry about it." I said. "I'll meet you guys at S.M." "but- I interrupted Suho. "I'll meet you there" I said more firmly. they were hesitant but they eventually all got inside after playing rock papers scissors trying to pick their seats and left. I finally was able to breathe naturally and smiled to myself. I took off running towards S.M. Letting my body overcome my mind.

Omniscient POV

The day had begun with Xiumin waking up early as always. He was making breakfast when he saw that Jin had woken up, her face was had a few splotches of bruises ranging from new to old. He saw her bow to him and say good morning and he replied back. It was silent again until the other members began to wake up and get ready. there was a knock in the door and manager hyung walked in and called Jin to come outside.

They all began to talk when she left the room. "what do we do?" asked Chen. "do we talk to her, do we say anything." asked Kai. "I think one of us should try and talk to her, but not all of us, she might feel uneasy if we do." said Suho. They saw Jin come back in and they stared at her. "Whae?" she asked. Her expression was cold and uninviting. they went back to what they were doing but they stared at her as she sat as far away as she possibly could and ignored them. Baekhyun got the courage to go and talk to her.

The other members listened in and how she shot down all of his attempts to start a conversation. Baekhyun eventually went back to eating, shrugging his shoulders at them. They then all got up and headed to the vans to go and practice. As they were at the vans they came to a realization that Jin wouldn't be able to fit in the van. She spoke up and said that she would see them there and was stubborn about it. They let her and sat in the vans and drove off.

20 minutes later

They arrive at S.M and saw that Jin was on the steps, waiting for them. She got up as she saw them walk up. They all went inside to the practice rooms and they separated, Jin decided to follow the largest group, the vocal line and just sat down in the corner as she watched them rehearse and goof around. She decided to check on the others so she left. Immediately they began to talk. "This is really awkward, guys." said Chen. "what can we do?" asked D.O. "we should just give her time." said Suho. "she's not going to open up." said Luhan. "we need her to loosen up somehow." said Baekhyun. They sat thinking of what to do.

JIN'S POV

I went to go see how Kai, Lay, and Sehun were doing. I looked inside to see them dancing and I walked away. In the next room over, there was Chanyeol, Kris,and Tao working on their rap. I sighed and wandered around for awhile..I walked down a hallway until I came to a door and I looked inside, it was like the room that Kai, Lay, and Sehun were at. I turned up some music on my phone and put it on a speaker, I began to practice on some choreography from the video Sherlock by SHINee.

Song by song passed and I followed along even when there wasn't a specific dance to the dance. I was watching myself in the mirrors when I heard someone come up,I looked and saw that it was Kai. I stopped dancing and went to turn off the music. "whoa, daebak." he said. He smiled. "you're really good at dancing." "you should really show the other members." he kept smiling. "Don't." I said. "you better not tell them." "why not?" he asked. "just don't, promise me." I said. "araesso." he said. "Come on." he said. "we were going to go eat."

I walked beside him until we met up with the rest of the members. I wasn't too sure on where we were going, I just kept walking behind them keeping a distance but still in range of them. they arrived at a ddeobokki (spicy rice cake) shop. They sat down and I passed them and kept walking until I was 3 booths away from them. I saw them beckon at me trying to get me to come and sit with them but I shook my head. I could see fans outside taking pictures and I did not want them to rip my eyes out.

I put my music on and just put in my earbuds, ignoring them. I felt a tug in my shoulder and saw that Chanyeol had gotten up and was by my side. "sit with us." he said. He was smiling like a dork, he reminded me of Shin. I reluctantly got up and followed him. I sat between him and Kai. I kept my head down but I peeking glances at them through my eyelashes. Kai nudged at me. I took off my earbuds. "aren't you going to eat?" asked Suho. I shook my head. "Aniyo." "but you didn't eat this morning." said Baekhyun. " I'm not hungry." I replied but just as I said it my stomach betrayed me and growled with hunger.

They all laughed at my lie. Kai stabbed a piece of ddeobokki with a toothpick and held it out to me. I took it from him and ate it. "good?" asked Chanyeol. I nodded and kept eating. They finished up and we were heading toward the dorms, thankfully the fans didn't notice me.

We were about to cross the street when I saw a car speeding, I looked up to see that Sehun and Kai hadn't notice. I ran up behind them and yanked them back by their shirts. The car speeded by where they both would have been. They both looked shocked and kept staring, the other members were worrying over them. "yah! babo (idiot)!" yelled Chen. " Be more careful next time." I said. and I quickly walked to the dorms and into my bedroom. I sat on my bed. "shit." I thought. "this was going to be harder than I thought."
