Jin's POV

We walked to the Ferris wheel and waited in line, for what seemed like an eternity. Kyungsoo was just hopping from foot to foot and would glance at me and smile. My heart felt heavy and my eyes got watery. Finally we got on. We sat down next to each other and took a deep breathe trying to steady my nerves.

"Kyungsoo-" I started to say. "You know, jagiya it's almost sunset." he interrupted. The sky was a light orange and the sun glowed ever so softly. "It's beautiful isn't it?" he said. I nodded and swallowed hard. "Yeah, beautiful." I agreed. We reached the top and it stopped for a moment. I breathed out my heart pounding, my stomach nauseous and I was dizzy.

"Can-Can I tell you something?" I breathed out quickly. My throat was getting choked up and it was getting hard to breathe but I had to tell him even if it killed me. "You can tell me anything princess. Are you okay? you look sick." he asked worriedly. I shook my head. "No. I'm fine." I said. I breathed in again. oh god, I felt like I wanted to puke, this was not good. "You know I love you right?" I asked. He smiled. "Of course I do, and I love you too." I nodded. "And we're always going to be friends right? no matter what?" I asked. "Of course." he said confused. "Promise?" I asked holding out my pinky. "Yeah, promise he said wrapping his around mine.

My eyes were getting misty and the sunset started to blur. My breathing got shallow and rapid. "Princess?! what's wrong?!" he exclaimed. He looked at me with a lot of concern. "I'm sorry Kyungsoo. I'm so sorry!" I cried. I covered my face and tears splashed onto my hands. "What do you mean?! You're scaring me!" he tugged on my arms and I turned to look at him through my tears. "I chose Lay." I said. Kyungsoo look of worry dissipated and his arms dropped. He looked like a statue. "Ky-Kyungsoo?" I said.

His face turned into pain and he looked away at the sunset. "So that's your choice." he said. "Yes." I replied. "Even though I love you." he said. "Lay loves me too!" I cried. He shook his head and his chin trembled. "I loved you more and you know it!" he yelled. "How could you do this?!" "no, no Kyungsoo; I still love you but it's different!" I tried to touch him but he cringed and away. "Don't touch me, you liar!" he yelled. "Kyungsoo..." I cried. "Don't talk to me." he said crying. "So all those things you said was a lie?! Any girl would be lucky to have me?!"

"Any girl would be lucky to have you!" I exclaimed. "But not you!" he yelled back. The Ferris wheel stopped and the doors opened. He ran out quickly. I ran after him. "Wait!" I yelled. So many people were in my way that I stumbled and fell down. I tried to calm myself down but I couldn't stop crying. "No, please don't leave. I'm sorry....." And then I blacked out.

A pair of arms picked me up and carried me. It was all blurry so I couldn't tell who it was. They placed me down somewhere and then I felt movement like a car going somewhere. I saw blond hair and a deer face. Luhan? He looked down at me and he reached down to pet my hair. "Shhh, Jin. Go back to sleep." he murmured. And I did what he said.

I woke up with a start and I looked at my surroundings. I was in my room and it was morning. The clock read 5 am. It was the day of the tournament. I heard a groan and a hand draped over me, Lay and on my other side was Tao. Lay opened his eyes wearily and sat up when he saw that I was awake. "Are you okay?" he asked. And then I suddenly remembered of the day before and I broke into silent tears. He pulled me into his arms and rubbed my back. "Shh, shh. it's going to be okay. He just needs time to heal. don't blame yourself." he said. "Wh-Where is he?" I asked. He hesitated in answering but finally said.

"We don't know." he said. "What?!" I cried. "Suho and Baekhyun ran after him but he left in a taxi." he said. "It's my fault." I said. "You can't think that. He'll be okay by himself. He'll come back when he's ready." he said. I nodded and got up. "I should probably warm up before the tournament." I said. "Okay." he said. Dae-Hyun was already awake and was in the kitchen drinking tea. His eyebrows raised when he saw me walk in. "Wow, you look awful." He said. "I feel awful." I replied. "I heard-about what happened yesterday." he said. I just nodded. "You still need to focus today though, dwelling on it will only distract you." "but-" I started.

"No buts, one must know the right time for everything. a warrior does not get distracted on the battlefield." he said. I knew he was right, thinking about this now wasn't going to help me in any way. I had to put personal matters aside and just fight. It was all I could do. "Alright." I said. "Good." he nodded. "Lets go warm up a bit before."

7 am

The tournament was going to start at 8, everyone was very excited and nervous, no one brought up that Kyungsoo wasn't there. We were climbing into the cars to drive, everyone was excited to see me fight again and I took a look out on the street, peering around hoping to see a glimpse of his figure. "Come on Jin, he's not coming, we have to leave." said Dae-Hyun. I solemnly nodded and got into a car. "Lets go."

Seoul Martial Arts Center

The entrance seemed foreboding as I got out. Around I could see a bunch of muscly guys way bigger than me with arrogant smirks and cold stares. I hit the car with my back, I didn't realize that was subconsciously trying to get away. Like a stray dog in front of pack of dogs. "Hey Jin, chill, don't let them see you scared. If not why don't you go into the submission pose right now?" said Dae-Hyun. Huh, he was right. I had to act confident. I breathed out and walked up the steps. "Don't worry Jin! We'll see you inside!" said Baekhyun.

"Yeah you have nothing to worry about, you can beat every guy here!" said Chanyeol. Everyone ran inside to get seats. Lay walked up beside me. "You're going to do great just stay calm." He placed a hand over my heart and chuckled feeling my beating heart that was exploding. "That's not calm." I blushed. "It was a minute ago." I said. He kissed me quickly on the lips. "Knock 'em dead, Jin."

As I walked into the registration area, a lot of the guys ignored me. They didn't think that I was competing... or didn't care. "Hello, how can I help you?" asked the lady from behind the desk. "Um yes, I would like to sign in." I could see the shock in her face. "For the tournament?" she asked. "Yes, Choi Jin is my name I should be on the list." I said. She looked skeptical but checked. "Um alright Choi Jin. You will be in the 8th match please continue to the contestants area." "Thank you." I replied.

"No way, she's a contestant?" "What a puny bug." "We'll finish her off quick." I could hear the whispers. "Just keep walking." Chung-Ho came up from behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. "You'll show them on the battlefield." But there was a stare that I couldn't shake. He was standing in the corner listening to his earbuds and I felt his stare when I came in but I ignored it in the beginning.

He had dyed white hair and a fair complexion and a lean figure. Not someone that seemed to be a martial artist but looks can be deceiving. We looked at each other in the eyes and he nodded in acknowledgment to me. He wasn't putting me off like the others, he actually considered me as an opponent. His lips moved, I couldn't hear him but I read his lips. "See you in there." "You too." I said. He looked back and paid attention to his phone again. So I actually have something to make me want to fight. I pushed the doors open and let the light from inside consume me. Let the battle begin.
