Jin's POVMy head was pounding and my vision was blurry. My fight with the giant did not go so well on my behalf. I laid down on the floor trying to find my equilibrium once again. A medic came over and shined a light in my eye. "You're done for the day." he said. "What?!" I tried to stand but ended up falling on my butt.
He just looked at me with a knowing glance. "You have a bad concussion and you leg is injured. I advise you to forfeit the next match." He said. I shook my head slightly. "I can't do that." I said. "If you don't something even worse can happen, you're body can't take much more."
"There is something that I have to prove, something that needs to be finished once and for all." I told him. He sighed and scratched his head. "You're stubbornness can get you killed but I can't do anything to stop you." Without a second glance he walked away and I was left to try and make myself better. I looked over at the crowd again and found the little girl who was cheering for me wave once more. I waved back and pointed my attention to the guy that was next to her.
He looked oddly familiar but he was too covered up. I rested my eyes and all too soon the referee had blown the whistle signaling that the match was over. I didn't have to open my eyes to know that Jinyoung had won. I groaned and got up slowly and made my way to the circle. Sang-Kyu had a viscous smile on his face but I was in too much pain to really take notice.
The referee blew the whistle and in an instant he was at my side punching it. My reflexes were too slow so I took the blow and I gasped as his knuckles bared down on my rib cage. I stumbled backwards and I saw him come again and again I was too slow and I was hit on the side of the head and then in the chest and once more he side swept me and I fell elbow first on the mat but got up quickly.
My eyes drooped and it was hard to stay awake. I could tell that he knew I was weak and he was going to break me. He punched me over and over. I was breathing hard and holding on to my side trying to push my ribs together. He was going to take his time in winning and it made me mad that he thought I was easy prey.
When his next attack came I was ready, I grabbed ahold of his arm and twisted it so that he faced away from me and then I kicked him over and over in the back of the knees until the referee pulled me off. This time I was the one smiling. I grabbed him by the throat and slammed him down on the floor. He came back with a kick to my back and I landed several punches to his stomach and then intercepted one of his kicks with mine.
We landed a few steps away from each other just looking at one another. Then he came at me and dug his nails into my shoulder and pushed my upper half down and slammed his knee on my face. I fell down holding my face. The referee blew his whistle. He moved Sang-Kyu away. I staggered onto my feet as blood trickled from my mouth down my chin and to the floor. There was no point in stopping the bleeding so I let it fall.
The referee called a time out and I sat down to have medics look at me. They shook their heads on disapproval. I ignored their looks and gingerly got up. The room was spinning and I tried my hardest to walk back. I shook my head left to right trying to clear it and the spinning lessened a bit. "Are you ready to begin?" Asked the referee. I nodded.
He blew the whistle and he came at me again but I had already anticipated it, I slid down between his legs and hooked my foot under the gap and yanked. He fell down and I took the chance to get on top of him. We grappled with each other and I pulled my hand back in a fist and hit him in the face. I ignored his clawing and kicks to my stomach and I threw my weight into the last punch, I heard a satisfying crunch as I got pulled off by the referee.
Sang-Kyu was crouching on the ground, holding his nose and I saw blood gushed out. Oh God please let him forfeit, please let this be over. With great pain he got up and waved the referee away and wiped his nose on his sleeve. I saw the fury in his eyes and I knew he wasn't going to give up, I would have to end up either breaking his leg or making him unconscious, I didn't have the strength to end this but I wasn't going to lose.
I looked at the crowd, I waved to the guys trying to find strength. I just stared at Lay, making my heart flutter. I felt better after staring at his angelic face, I looked around again for the little girl. She was on top of the guys shoulders to get a better view and she waved fiercely and yelled.
I glanced back at Sang-Kyu, so tired already. He came at me once more and we went back and forth for awhile when I decided to look at the crowd once more, I felt a piercing stare and I stopped and blinked, everything slowed down and I just saw him there standing, watching me with eyes of sorrow.
Kyungsoo....
Then realization hit me and I felt a sudden blow to my side and I fell to the ground my head knocking against the floor. My eyes watered as I tried to comprehend what was happening and I saw him on top of me. I felt blow after blow after blow until my lip split open. I could do nothing but cover myself. I kept staring at Kyungsoo and feeling the pain washing over me. He had come, after all I had done, he had come to cheer me on and I couldn't bear it.
The betrayal I had caused him, I was going to make it up to him. I let my arms fall and I let Sang-Kyu hit me again and again. He put his lips to my ear and held my throat. I felt him squeezing it and I was trying not to black out as I heard him say to me "Sorry Princess but you've brought to much humiliation to me. The only way to redeem myself is to kill you. Say goodbye Jin, this is the last time you'll see the light of day again alive." He held my head up and slammed it against the floor.
Again.
And again.
And again.
I felt bone crack under the pressure. I coughed out blood and he held my neck tighter and tighter. I felt my brain jostle inside my skull. The referee tried to stop him but he flung the referee across and he laid there like a rag doll. Tears were running down his face onto mine, weird, he was trying to kill me yet he was crying.
"Just end it." I whispered. Tears fell as I looked at Lay, he was in a daze. Just staring back at what was happening. I looked over at Kyungsoo. He was yelling, I could see the straining it had on his throat. "Don't ruin your singing voice." I said but it barely came out over the roar of the crowd. He was crying and running down the bleachers.
Please be happy after I'm gone, please forgive me.
Sang-Kyu raised me off the ground closing my air passage way and with one final toss I felt come down on the floor. My head pounded and I heard more bones crack and I saw someone pull Sang-Kyu off.
So many figures were running towards me. I blinked slowly, I saw bright lights and then I saw 12 handsome, ethereal faces look down at me. I smiled and then
Black.
