The way home was quiet, and our goodbye was nothing but a quick kiss, and the promise to text each other later.

It felt good to be in my bed, even if I was alone. Thankfully, I didn't have too much time to sit there pitying myself, because my phone lit up. I grinned and grabbed it immediately accepting Drew's facetime. "Baby girl!" he said. My smile immediately fell away, and my eyes widened. "D....Drew, what happened to your hair?" I gasped. Drew's thick glossy brown hair was gone. He bit his lip and sighed. "Chemotherapy. I didn't have a choice." he said softly. I forced a smile back onto my face and shrugged. "You still look good," I said finally. He laughed and rolled his eyes. "Brooklyn, even a thousand miles away, I can still tell when you're lying." he said with a smirk. It was my turn to laugh and then I rolled my eyes. There was a few moments of silence, and I sighed. "It' so weird that you're facetiming me. We usually just go to each other's houses," I said softly. Drew was silent, and I swallowed back more tears. Finally, he sighed. "Even a thousand miles can't keep us apart." he said softly. "I belong wherever you are, baby girl. And nothing will change that." I smiled and then rolled onto my side. "By the way," I said changing the subject, "thanks for all the gifts, I love them." Drew smirked and shrugged. "You better love them. I spent over three hundred dollars, and more than 10 hours-" he stopped when he noticed I was laughing. He glared at me until I stopped laughing, and I took a deep breath. "Drews, you're supposed to say you're welcome," I giggled. Drew joined in my laughter, before we were interrupted by a voice in the background. "You need to say goodbye now," it was his mom, trying to be quiet. I rolled my eyes and Drew sighed dramatically. "Mom, it's Brook, I think I can talk to her for more than 20 minutes," he pointed out. I bit my lip, waiting awkwardly. There were some whispers, and finally Drew looked back up at his phone. "Hey, I'm sorry baby girl, but I've got to go. Apparently I'm tired, and I need to rest." he said rolling his eyes. I smiled and laughed softly. "I get it, get some rest, okay?" I said softly. He rolled his eyes playfully again. "Okay mom," he teased. I laughed softly. After a few more moments of silence, he sighed. "I love you baby girl, okay?" he said gently. I forced a smile and nodded. "I know, Drews. I love you too,"
