25 minutes later, we were walking across the football field to where a bunch of other sweaty guys stood huddled. Blake swallowed, and I could tell he was nervous, so I wrapped my arm around his waist. He smiled down at me gratefully before slinging his arm around my shoulders. When we finally arrived in front of the team, everyone stopped talking. Thankfully, a loud voice greeted us. "Blake Taylor, it's great to see you again," Blake grinned and moved away from me as he slapped hands with the coach, Jim Caldwell. "Boys, you all know Blake by now," Jim said. The guys nodded, and they all greeted Blake. After a while, the coach blew his whistle. "Alright Taylor, let's see what you can do!" he boomed. A buff guy stood up and grabbed a football before jogging out onto the field. Blake grinned, and sprinted after him. I watched in awe as the guy through long passes to Blake, and Blake caught every single one. "You must be Brooklyn, I'm Andre." a guy next to me said. I looked up at him and smiled. "How does everyone know my name?" I asked. He chuckled. "Coach said that if Blake came, you'd most likely be with him," he explained. I nodded, and turned my attention back on Blake. "Who is the guy passing the ball?" I asked Andre. Andre grinned. "That's Aaron," he said. I nodded, and watched as the coach hurried over to Blake. Blake nodded, and set out at a sprint. What happened next seemed to go in slow motion. Aaron threw the ball, and Blake jumped up in the air. He must've landed wrong or something, because when he landed, he collapsed immediately. I gasped, and hurried over to him. "Oh my god, Blake!" I cried kneeling in front of him. He grinned at me and stood up quickly. "Did you see that pass?" he yelled. The guys on the team all started laughing, and I released a sigh of relief. "You scared me," I said smiling. Blake stopped grinning and hugged me. "I'm sorry, Bumble Bee," he said. I laughed and rolled my eyes, before smirking and grabbing the ball from him. "Ha, you can't get it," I teased as I began running. He laughed and chased after me. Squealing, I tried to duck under him, but he grabbed my around the waist. The rest of the team joined in, and soon it got really rough, so I left. Jim smiled at me as we watched the guys "play" football, and I smiled back. "You're lucky," he said after a while. I smiled, and shrugged. "We're not dating," I said softly. "He's just a really good friend right now, but you're right I am pretty damn lucky," I replied. He laughed at my response and whistled for the team to come over here. Once everyone was huddled up, Jim looked at Blake. "So Taylor, do you think you can lead us to the Playoffs this year?" he asked. Blake looked around, meeting everyone's eye. When he met mine, he winked, before turning back to Jim. "No, sir," he said slowly. "I can't, but we can," he said. The guys cheered, and Jim's grin grew bigger. "That's what I like to hear, son." he said. Blake was grinning from ear to ear, and I laughed leaning into him slightly. In response, he wrapped his arm around my waist and squeezed my waist gently. "Congratulations," I said softly. He smiled and kissed my cheek. "Thanks for being here, Brook," he said softly. I nodded, and the team's cheers filled the air, before they ran onto the field to finish practice.
