Leanne kept on swirling her cocktail drink inside the glass she held as she closely surveyed the wedding banquet. Everything was kept elegantly soft and glittery . . . It was close to perfection.
This was how Shaleen dreamed her wedding would be – pure, intimate, flashy and happy. It's filled with love. It can be felt at every corner, at the visitors' smiles, and especially on the faces of the bride at groom.
I just wish . . .
"What's with the deep sigh?" She turned to Sey Chelle. She was smiling impishly, eyeing her untouched drink. "You will bring bad luck to the newlyweds if you keep frowning."
She immediately changed her expression. She was not aware she was frowning. There are just some different things that's occupying her mind. And it was entirely someone else's fault.
"I saw the posters and ads and I'm impressed." Sey Chelle said conversationally, hiding that kind of smile she knew too well. Sey is her friend even before she became her manager. And he really knew what her smile really means. Like that smile she was trying to suppress.
She was referring about the SPEED CHASE Series photo shoot, obviously. And she had the distinct feeling she also knew about the little detail they technically omitted in the contract.
And it made her wonder if that smile knows what was behind the success of that photo shoot.
"Yeah . . . well." She shrugged as if she didn't care about it – as if it was nothing. Even if inside her, she's irritated. And disappointed.
It's been a week since that night Wonwoo left her in the hospital with his family. She was mad at him for leaving her there without a word, even he was the one who asked her to stay. But that didn't last long. Because as days passed by without her seeing him, she's thinking and she's worried of him more.
She can't stay still. He bothers her too much, especially that last night she saw him. And as much as she hates to admit to herself, it left a mark.
That was why when she heard Shaleen sent him an invitation to her wedding, she felt a great relief that he was doing and sounding okay, according to Shaleen when she saw him to personally give the invitation.
But more than that, it was the sensation she detected in the prospect of seeing him again. She was kind of looking forward to this day that she even forgot to bring my wedding gift. How crazy was that?
And that, she guess, was basically the reason why she feel so disappointed right now. Because he was not there.
She's really looking forward on him being there – to see him again. To see that everything about him is alright. But why he isn't there? He's not around during the wedding and also now on the reception. Did Shaleen mean anything for him? They were also friends, right? So what's with not showing up? Doesn't he care?
She caught a fleeting glimpse of something white approaching and she immediately smiled when she saw the lovely bride. She looks so happy, and it can be seen on her face.
"Thank you so much for coming." Shaleen hugged her tight in which she gladly returned.
"I told you, I can't miss this for the world."
I turned her around to check on the wedding gown that she even bought and style at Italy. It has a low wide neck line and sleeveless bodice with a modest cut skirt that hugged her slim body with perfection. The dress was stunning, but not as stunning as the bride herself.
"I'm happy for you, Leen." She said while holding her hands "You deserve to be happy. If only Light can see you now, I'm sure he's very happy for you, too. And I know Crey will love you like Light did."
