"Don't push it, Leanne." Wonwoo warned, still on his chair. "You don't know what you're asking." She watched his eyes changed. From fire to ice.

She sighed. Teasing him was not working. "I'm serious, Wonwoo. Just one race, that's all I'm asking. A deal. I can't let you say no without giving me a valid explanation. So let's settle it with a race."

He massages the bridge of his nose. "You really want to cross me."

"I just want to continue my brother's legacy. That's the only thing I'm asking for. And I'm ready to do anything just to get that."

"That's suicide." He grunted low before he raised his head. "We both know you can't win against me. Nobody."

"That will have to change because I will beat you." The muscle in his jaw ticked, but she just quirked her eyebrow in a challenge. "So? What do you say?"

He stared at her for a long silence and she didn't dare break it because she knows he was thinking to say yes.

Come on, Wonwoo. Just say yes!

"And if you lose?" He contemplated. She almost threw a fist in the air in victory because she can feel him very close to yielding. She just needs to goad him. A little bit more.

"I know that won't happen."

His brow rose up. "Really? You're that confident, huh?"

"I am that good, Wonwoo. I know I can win."

He suddenly stood up and walked towards the window – thinking. And then he turned around to her with a stern look on his face, and uncertainty. "Before I agree to anything." He paused to think again. "I have conditions too." She nodded. Just that, for him to agree.

"If I win, which will happen, Light Legacy will remain empty." He said. She nodded again. That's a given and that's why she needs to win.

"And." He continued. "If you lose . . . I won't take you in as a member of my league."

Her eyes widened at what he said. "What?—"

He raised a finger. "I'm not done yet." He said – hard and cold. Then he said very slowly. "If I win, you will stop racing."

And it was her jaw's turn to drop. "That's too much! I can't give up racing. You know that!" Damn! He was driving a hard bargain. She's getting irritated with the flow of their conversation.

"That's my deal. Take it or leave it," He said as if he didn't care about what she just said.

Shit! He was asking for too much. What if she loses? She can't give up racing. She can never give up her brother. He's the reason why she chose that life. If she loses this . . .

No. She will not lose him. She has a promise to keep. She has her guilt to ease. She can't turn back to it.

"But." Wonwoo broke the doubts circling inside her head. "If you manage to beat me, then I promise I won't interfere with your life again."

Pain shot in her chest. Sharp and deep. What the hell does he mean by that? Was he asking her to choose between him and Light? If I win or lose?

Time to decide, Aianne.

If she took the deal, and win, she'd lose him. But if she don't take his condition and go home, she'd lose her brother.

Wonwoo or Light? Light or Wonwoo?

The silence stretched excruciatingly for her.

Shit!

"Do you really want this?" He asked me in her sparring silence. She nodded. She needs to win because she needs to do it for herself. She has to resolve her own pain before she heals him. But it that happen and she accepts it . . .
