It's already over half an hour but Wonwoo is still inside his ophthalmologist doctor's clinic, the one who is responsible for his eyes when he's still at the hospital. Today will be the day the bandage on his eyes will be removed and since he's excited since last night, he didn't acquired enough amount of sleep.
Unlike him, Leanne is too nervous for this day to come. Wonwoo just laughed at her then. She can't help but think of the possibilities right after the bandages from Wonwoo's eyes will be removed. But as what he said, his visions were okay according to the doctor during his last check up, and with that, it lessens her worries.
She heard her phone rang and saw Irene's name as the caller.
"Irene? Are you still coming?" She answered as she approached the window, hoping to see her car.
"Geez. I'm sorry, A. I think I won't be there right on time. You know, school drama. Besides, I don't want to ruin your moment with my brother." She just laughed at her teasing. "Anyway, just tell my brother I'll drop off this evening at dinner, okay? I'll cook."
She just nodded. "Sure, I'll tell him."
"Thanks a lot, A . . ." She sighed. "For everything, especially for being there with Wonwoo."
"It's nothing." It was the least she can do. She also wants to take care of Wonwoo. After all she has done, taking care of him for two days won't be enough.
She thought it would be hard. But after that night, Wonwoo started to loosen up slowly, gradually. There were time that he refuses her help, but she tends to tell him off and it quite effective. He can be a royal pain in the ass, but she can't say she didn't have fun.
Taking care of Wonwoo was the most fulfilling thing she has ever done, besides racing. He's like a book that a turning pages – mysterious. She learned too much by taking care of him. And she loved every tiny piece she learns about him, every discovery. Even the simplest detail about his favorite shampoo.
She thinks it helped when she confessed her fear, when she bared everything. It made everything light and good. No baggage to carry. It was something new and fragile for the both of them but they're comfortable. That's what matter most.
With a deep sigh, she whirled around and almost jumped when she found Wonwoo standing outside the door.
"Wonwoo!" She exclaimed out of surprise. One side of his lips rose up as he stared at her. She immediately felt something soar in her chest – butterflies.
"H-how long have you been there?" She blurted out when he started to walk to her. She kind of felt anxious for no apparent reason, which was absurd and crazy. But she did. Or maybe it's because of him. Or his eyes.
"I just got out from there." He said and she found her feet statically unmoving when he stood in front of her. She was stuck and she could only stare at his eyes in a mute silence. She forgot how gorgeous his eyes were, and how much they weaken her heart.
"Ready to leave?" His eyebrows quirked.
"Hmm . . . You? Aren't you done yet?" She gestured to the clinic's door. She had to move her hand to do the talking because she just couldn't speak the words right out of her mouth. She was flustered. Totally and laughably flustered. And her heart was beating erratically.
His shoulder lifted up in a shrug. "Everything's done. But I have to be back after a week."
"Oh . . ." She sighed deeply, at least trying to pacify herself.
"Let's go?" He said and reached for her hand. She just wants to stare at him. But no, he just drags her with him to the lift.
There were two female nurses inside and they both smiled at us. Yet she noticed how they looked at Wonwoo. She just mentally shook her head. She's been immune to those kinds of reaction especially when she's with Wonwoo. She know the feeling, She's been there, done that, and it's not wearing off. Never, actually.
