"You have a twin sister"

Your eyeballs almost left your sockets the moment you heard that. "What?", you blurted out softly in disbelief while staring at the woman infront of you with wide eyes.

"I am sorry, Minhee. I am so sorry for keeping it as a secret from you", she held your hand with teary eyes. You were too shocked to respond to her.

After quite some time, you softly let out above a whisper, "Why-why didn't you tell me?"

She wiped away her fallen tears and said, "I won't blame you, even if you hate me after I told you the whole story" Her words made you feel pressured. Some part of you didn't want to know, but at the same time, your curiosity could kill you.

"I-I think I am ready to hear it all", you said and she took a deep breath.

"Actually, I gave birth to the both of you during my college days. I had you with my first love"

"Your first love? Isn't dad your first love?", you asked with a heavy heart.

"No", your heart dropped the moment you heard that. The dead father you had been missing. The father you loved more than anything... it's not your blood-related father.

"So-so my real father is?"

"He's from the same class as mine. We both loved each other more than anything. We dated for like three years but, his family didn't accept our relationship because of my poverty. They did everything to split us apart. He ended up marrying a woman he doesn't love and I let go of that relationship for the sake of us. I wouldn't have let go if I knew two lives existed in my womb already", she said as tears streamed down her cheeks.

You didn't know what to do. You wanted to comfort her but you, yourself was in so much pain to do that. So, you just ended up staring at her.

"That was how the father you knew saved me. He is my best friend and he didn't want me to have fatherless children. He took care of me and married me for the sake of you guys future. Months later, your blood-related father died from a car accident and it hurt me so much. My heart was torn into pieces. So, I went to his funeral and that was when your grandmother saw your sister and you for the first time. And she made me do the worst mistake in my life", she continued between her sobs.

"What did she do?", you asked.

"Asking for one of you and never contact her again", your mother uttered.

"Why did you give my sister to her, just because she asked for it?!", you shrieked in tears.

"I didn't have a choice! She threatened your non blood-related father's life!", she yelled and you went silent.

"I can't do that! He is my best friend who saved me!", she placed her hand over her chest, trying to ease the pain inside her heart.
