-Chester-

Harvard University, Fall 2016

The scent of autumn air was bound to shower the world with freshness. I enjoyed my favorite season of the yeas by biking on the premises of Harvard University, feeling the cool wind cleanse my body. The place felt like heavenly bliss to me. The leaves swayed downward and their color gave the earth a very scenic view.

My phone beeped stupidly under the pocket of my shirt. It was Naomi, saying to pick her up from her classroom. I rolled my eyes and sped away.

Remembering those times as I kick the pedals, it’s funny how my life started to change after I saved Andrew, loved him like crazy, and had to go bullying to realize that the one meant for me has always been by my side. It’s funny though, how Naomi stood up for me and never left me. I thought we’d only be bickering about pointless things, but we ended up hugging and kissing each other on cold nights. I used to think that I’d love another girl and we’d remain as best friends. And it’s funny how I had a change of heart. I still couldn’t understand how it happened right away. I thought of discovering it at the coming time, when we already have children. Nevertheless, I thanked for heavens because Naomi brought out the man in me.

The room was full of squeals from girls when I got in. Naomi’s classmates looked at me as if I was a national heartthrob. I gained this reputation by being her boyfriend, and they dubbed us as the “perfect couple”. I waved at them and smiled while I saw Naomi pout her lips in jealousy.

“Hey.” she said and waved her hand in front of me like I was blind.

“Hey. Let’s go.” I said and carried her books. She linked her arm with my own as we walked to where I left my bike.

She rode on the backseat and I drove away. It feels so right to have her arm wrapped around my stomach. It only means that she’s keeping me and won’t let me go. So I should stay here for her.

“Your classmates are beautiful.” I teased.

“Do you want to die?” she threatened.

“But you’re the most beautiful of them all.”

“Liar.” she said. “And seriously, you’re my most handsome boyfriend ever.”

“Liar.” I said flatly. She slapped my back and groaned in pain. I laughed and focused on the drive. Her arms

served as my seatbelt.

“What do you want to eat today?” I asked.

“Anything.”

“Even spicy foods? You’ll love it.” She slapped my back again. “I’ll eat you up if you do that.”

I laughed and drove faster, causing her to squeal and laugh with me.

This is what I call forever.
