-Chester-

My knees shook non-stop as I stood in front of the Rivers’ mansion. I clasped the diary between my hands while trying to keep my breathing at a steady rhythm. This wasn’t an easy decision for me to take. I was propelled by the motivation to see Naomi again, and this was the only way to prove to her brother that I’m not up to anything but only her love.

Robert crossed my mind for a moment. I wonder if he ever accepted that I won over him. It must be that hard, but he was the one who gave up.

Upon seeing me form her room, Hera ran all the way to open the gate for me. I let myself in and asked where Noah is. She said he’s at the study room so I took long strides to that place.

“Come in.” he said after I knocked a few times.

I gently pushed the door open and he looked up from the book that he was reading. He sat up straight in his swivel chair.

“Good afternoon, sir.” I politely approached.

I could sense his stark disgust at me but still he spoke in that calm and composed tone.

“What did you come here for?”

I took those nervous steps to his table and put the diary in front of him. “That’s my diary from day one in high school. I know you still have doubts with who I am and my feelings for your sister. I hope through this you’d eventually accept me.” I said.

He looked at it sharply then back at me. “Okay, I’ll give you a chance. The last judgment comes from me.”

“Yeah, thanks.”

I marched out of the room shortly after our conversation. On my way out of the house, I saw Naomi walking to her room. We both stopped on our tracks.

I haven’t seen and talked to her for days. Now seeing her again, there’s so much we need to hear from each other. And this moment wasn’t the right time.

“Hey.”

She was stunned by my expression. She couldn’t help but smile back at me.

“Hey.”

“How are you doing?” I asked, though I knew it wasn’t okay. I just want to keep the conversation going.

“Fine. You?”

“I’m alright.” Then I planted a kiss on her forehead. “I have to go.” I said, hoping that everything would turn out as I have imagined.
