Truth: Restated

How many times,
Are you going to lie to me?
This situation mimes,
What your future is going to be.

Sooner or later,
People will find out,
That you've been a lying, snapping alligator,
Who has a pinocchio-like snout.

You tell lies,
Because you think they can't handle the truth.
But the beautiful disguise,
Leaves the truth hiding like a sleuth.

I understand,
That sometimes the truth hurts,
But sooner or later their mind will land,
On the connections your mouth splurts.

Stop lying to others,
Because they'll find out,
They'll feel like disappointed mother's,
And either keep it to themselves or shout.

The truth that sprouts,
Will only hurt them in the end,
They'll be filled with doubts,
And it'll take a while for their hearts to mend.

That's why, I beg you,
To, please, tell the truth.
It may leave some people quickly blue,
But it'll be easier when you look back on your youth.
