Blind

I can't see the world,
As everyone else can,
I miss the blooms that become unfurled,
And the marathons that have been ran.

I've missed most of the Earth,
And most of the sun,
The miracle of childbirth,
And having plain fun.

When you are as I am,
You're surrounded by black,
Suddenly everyone gives a damn,
And you're easy to attack.

I don't know where I am,
Or what you mean by blue,
I have no clue what's a dam,
And where I can find my shoe.

These are all challenges,
Annoying on their own,
It is how it is,
But I always seem to groan.

It's not my fault I'm blind,
I was born this way,
With a handicap on my mind,
Pulling me into dismay.

Can you please help me,
I can't find my socks,
Don't leave me be,
I could slip on some rocks.
