"Hi..."

I smiled as I heard her voice.

"Hey, how are you?" I asked in a sleepy voice.

It was 12 in the midnight when she decided to call. Good thing I was still awake because of this stupid project that our aral pan teacher gave us.

"I'm good, bruh. Ikaw? Kayo diyan? Did I wake you up?" Mag pag-aalala sa boses niya.

"Nope, we're okay here. I'm still wide awake. May project kasing ipinagawa si sir na bukas kaagad ipapasa eh. This is so fucking exhausting. I'm so tired..."

I can hear her sigh on the other line. I know nag-aalala na siya para sa amin. Since she left nothing was better. She was our medicine whenever were devastated and down. She was our laughing stock.

"Okay lang ba talaga kayo, Moira?" She asked again.

Bumuntong hininga naman ako at hinilamos ang kamay ko sa mukha ko.

Kanina lang ay masaya pa kaming nag usap ni Ianthe. We never made it to our meeting with Clyde and Luke because of this damn project. Pinayagan naman kaming umuwi ng maaga ni mrs. Madrigal dahil na rin sa proyektong ito.

"It just that..." i can't find my words. "Kailan ka ba dito babalik. Kahit nandito sina George at Ianthe, things were different when you're still here." I whispered enough for her to hear it.

"Ano ba naman yan, Moira. Don't drama drama me ha. Stop na tayo diyan. You know we can't change things. It just happens. We can't dictate life, dude. I'm still with you bruh. Don't be that, okay?" She said in a joking manner but I know she's serious.

Tumawa ako. "Ikaw rin naman. You won't call me this late kung wala kang problema. C'mon, what'a bothering you?"

She sighed on the other line. "Wala, naiinis lang ako sa mga bago kong kaklase. Mga users. Ano akala nila sa'kin? Shabu na pweding gamit gamitin?" I can really sense the annoyance within her voice.

"Kalma, dude. Baka lumabas mga sungay mo. Wala pa naman kami diyan. We won't call you 'King' for nothing. Maybe you just need to loosen up a bit. Show them a little bit of your dark magic dude. We're unicorns, right?" Then we both chuckled.

"Yeah, baka tama ka nga dude. Oh, I heard mom's footsteps, gotta sleep dude. Take care, all of you okay? I love you."

I smiled. "Love you too and take care..."

The line went dead. Now I'm back to this effing project. I massage my hands and lifted the pen again. Gotta do this thing again.

The morning came and I was already at our room. Half of us siguro nandoon na. We really need to finish this shit for the sake of our grades. Good things tapos na ako at naipasa ko na iyon kanina sa kaniya. Sir Alfred is really making my pimples roam around my face.

I was busy searching some things at my phone when I heard footsteps approaching to us. Lumingon ako sa pintuan namin. Ianthe's hair was messy. Parang dinaanan ng bagyo. Hinihingal rin siya habang pumapasok.

"Guys, sabi ni sir, kapag hindi niyo oa raw napasa sa kaniya ang mga projects niyo within," tiningnan niya ang wrist watch. "Three minutes, itatapon nita lahat ng mga ginawa ng mga unang nakapasa at hindi na niya tayo papapasukin sa klase niya..."

Kumunot naman ang noo ko dahil doon. That's unfair!

"Unfair naman noon! Kahapon niya lang sinabi ang proyekto ha! Hindi niya alam kung anong dinanas natin kahapon at kaninang madaling araw. Pagod at puyat ang nararamdaman natin! Ano bang ginawa natin sa kaniya para tratuhin niya tayo nang ganito? He was never fair!"
