"Kamusta na siya?"
Aunt Claire just held my hand then squeezed it gently. Reassuring me.
"She's already stable. Don't worry too much dear."
She's always jolly and happy.
"What happened, tita?"
"I was just visiting her at your house.
But he got busy so I just went there alone. Ilang beses na akong kumakatok but no one dared to open the door for me. Pinihit ko na lang ang pintuan kahit sa pag-aakala kong nakalock iyon but it was opened, pumasok na lang ako. Then I found your mother lying under the kitchen counter." She said weakly.
God, why is this happening to us.
"As soon as I saw her, I called an ambulance para ihatid siya dito. Sa sobra kong panick, I forgot to call you. I'm sorry for that, dear..." she said apologitically.
Umiling-iling ako habang nakayuko pa rin. "No, tita. I should be thanking you for saving my mother's life."
She just patted me in my shoulders. "Aalis na muna ako, Moira. Just call me if something happens okay? You know that you're a family to us already. I just hoped that you can talk with-"
"I get it, tita," I cut her off, not wanting her to say his name. "Thank you for today. I'll call you later po."
She just smiled at me and went on her way. I just sighed again before standing up and went inside to mama's room.
We were allowed to enter her room earlier but we kept our distmace from her. The doctor said to aunt Claire that she's stable physically but mentally? They can't say that she will be stable when she wakes up. Everything was too much for me to digest today.
May nakakabit na dextrose sakaniya and she was sleeping peacefully.
I can't keep myself from crying because it pains me to see her like this. This is not my mother. She's a strong woman but somehow, she fell down and I don't know why.
The next day was terrifying. Mama woke up and sadly, wala siya sa katinuan niya. She was murmuring things and wouldn't allowed others to go near her nor touch her to the point that she hurted herself.
But I still tried.
The window is facing her, the sunlight was hitting her skin that made it glisten. My mother is beautiful, no doubt on that. My father is a handsome man too but him and mom were completely opposite from each other.
"Ma," i called her.
She was just looking at me but when I look at her and gave her the same equal stare that she's giving me, she invaded her gaze at me.
"Who, ma?"
There wers tears forming into her eyes but she's trying to blink it away. Why the fuck is she crying?
"May kasama siyang ibang babae..." she started sobbing hard.
"I can't understand you, ma."
"I saw your father, Moira. May kasama siyang ibang b-babae."
"Baka katrabaho niya lang 'yon ma." I'm starting to doubt my own question to her. I never saw my mother like this, not even once. Just now.
"N-no..." her tears were like nearly deep pools.
"Paano mo 'yan nasasabi ma? Wala kang proof-"
"They were kissing, Moira!"
Napanganga na lang ako sa sinabi niya. What the...
"Nakita ko ang tatay mo na may kasamang babae, they were entering a hotel! I saw it with my own eyes! I followed them until they reached the room that they reserved for their..."
Napatanga ako. "What, ma?"
She slowly looked at me with her teary eyes before saying those words that made me realize that families in real life are not all happy or has a good endings.
"For their honeymoon..."
That struck me hard. "H-how?" Confusion was all over me.
"I don't know either, child. That room was reserved for a honeymoon when I asked the receptionist. I want to go balistic that time but I calmed my self until I went home. Aniya at umiyak.
Niyakap ko si mama at pinakalma. Even though I feel like my heart would give up anytime now because of all the pains and revelations, I can't let my mother like this. Kahit hindi na ang sarili ko, I need her with me. I don't wanna lose her.
"Shh, we'll sort this out, ma."
She just cried in my arms that day. She was really broken so do I. I've never seen my mother this vulnerable. I can't lose her. She's all I have.
